Finally, a guy who knows how to properly screed. It warms my heart to see the concrete flat, sealed up, and ready to float. We screed in a similar fashion but with a longer rod and two guys. We usually "cut" the mud 2 or 3 times in a slicing motion and then "seal" it. The other difference is we use come alongs instead of shovels to prep for the screed. Come alongs are faster and move more material. These are the only guys on KZfaq that I have found that come close to our efficiency in putting the mud down. Love it.

I strongly believe plastic under concrete is no good, the top cures quicker and produces shrinkage cracks as the top goes off quicker than underneath, wetting down aggregate is the best option in my opinion

Heidelberg is buying up all the concrete redimix company's in Seattle and their cement is total fucking trash. They're using a type 0/1 cement.. it's really thirsty. It takes more guys to finish it, and it just cracks to shit... 🖕🏻Heidelberg

Good to see concreters are actually teaching and explaining to the young bloke how it's done and not going off and abusing them because they didn't do it right the first time. I remember when I first started concreting and my first day I was supposed to know how to do the job😂😂
