They GOTTA breathe! I always laugh when people try to build fires directly on the cold, damp dirt in the bottom of a 12” pit. I’m like hot the hell you think it’s gonna get air?!? 😂 at least build up a loose log cabin base for it to draw air through! This is truly a masterclass in redneck fire barrel construction lmaooo this one won’t rot in the back yard slowly sinking down an inch ever month or so 😂😂

@@EarthFarm9 I have found its way faster to use slips. I direct plant them( slips ) but you can also put them in water and root them. Either way, it's faster than from the tater.

Too bad we can't use a tool like that to cut branches as easily in the USA, because banana tree branches are made of fiber and not wood. So don't knock us down. I am a female and I try to keep my wood branches in check by myself until I can't and then have to pay someone to do it for me. Thank You for sharing. The information goes a long way. If I had some of those leaves, I'd try to make some compost.

Such a pleasure to see new farmers gettting pleasure from a simple act of cutting banana leaves, thing that I used to do when I was 8 or 10 years old in Brazil. But had never seen this tool, I'll look for it when bacck in Brasil, although, most of our comercial bananas are not this tall, its smaller , so our farmers use the sickle. nice to see you guys, all the best !!

@@davidbasford6786from a little research it appears to be in the style of a Chinese gekken(or other spelling) however this one has a nice banana shape with that hook so possibly whoever made it did it custom but im no expert just definitely and intriguing tool

we can still get delivery here in Ecuador, but it goes to a city or town bus terminal and you just pick it up from there. more efficient method because there's less fuel used since the buses already move people and goods, better for the planet!

@@AdvExplorer that’s good to know! In USA we always shipped by the federal post office because they were going to everybody’s house anyway everyday which made it fairly eco friendly. Shipping by ups or fed ex was the worst for the planet

Hi guys, I agree w most of the wise assessment of both places. I don’t agree w the fear of police and policies here, though. If we adhere to ordinances, they are to protect us. Romans 13. We do have a different country than when I was younger. But we are still the land of the free. Jails in other countries are not anything like here. Too bad our food supply is not local, and the utopia that you seek is slowly disappearing. Only one day we will enjoy a new heaven and earth. So happy you have found somewhat of a semblance there.
