Man. Tufting seems like a huge shortcut technique once you know about the traditional rug-making techniques. The cartoon design, then every single freaking knot.

Was the table study enough for tufting?

Bro. People like you are what restore my faith in humanity. THANK YOU!!!!! I spent so long listening to other goobers on here that dont explain the technicalities, methods, and reasoning behind the technicalities and your methods... thats the only way I learn. I really think people learn better when you give them a REASON why they should follow said advice, and what happens when you don't. You're my kind of dude! Im subscribing, i wish you the absolute best man, and again, thank you!

Did you ever price your rugs like $30-$50 more than normal and when people ask and are turned off by the price you give them some negotiation room and ultimately come back down to your normal price?

I have watched a load of tufting videos and it has only just occurred to me that the machine doesn't have a walking foot like you'd get on a sewing machine that would give equal spacing.

I would ask for a deposit up front. If you can get a full deposit, all the better.

Sewing machine oil is not recommended as its qualities are for sewing machine parts to move in a way that is more sticky. You want lubricant for the gun, so knitting machine oil is better. However, I think the DW40 is good and probably easier to find. Clean the fluff out thoroughly after each use before oiling. Spatula.

Thanks for your generosity in sharing how you turned a passion hobby into a business. I appreciate the care and quality of your art work. I’m retired - a lifelong knitter and love fibre and started tufting a while ago. I love it so much and have been toying with the idea of having a bit of extra income. I’m way older than you but us older people have lots to learn from young people such as yourself! Thanks and looking forward to watching more of your videos.

I know this post has been a year and idk if you'll see this. I recently got into rug tufting and you've been an inspiration for me to start this as a business. My question is, what if I don't have Adobe Illustrator, can you recommend another software I can use to do this? Thank you! Much love from Canada.
