Steel Rubber belting. My family is Old order, or Groffdale Mennonites. We originally come from the Holland and German borderlands. The Mennonites moved to Pennsylvania in the 1700s to escape religious persecution. My family moved to New York in 1992 when I was 1. We are a big fan of the IH tractors from Holland and the courageous farmers. We are working on doing a full restoration on this one. Anyway, thanks for watching.

People look for happiness and success in the wrong places. We are all at fault. From the cradle to the grave, the pain you feel is the absence of God's presence. We came at birth from the light. The only way to God is through sacrifice. Not as dramatic as what Jesus did when he gave us the ultimate gift. God wants us to acknowledge that, and in his image and glory. Give a little of yourself if you can. He's not saying to become Jesus. Just small attempts at kindness. Random acts of kindness.

I too have an issue with the subframe. Tell me, the front holds engine? All of the engine or part of it? But what does the back oart hold? Because the back oart is my issue. Lots of big holes in middle
@lamarzimmermanmennonitefar52695 ай бұрын
Its been a few years since I did the repair, but the subframe kind of cradles the engine and transmission. I think the suspension attaches to it as well. It's important for the subframe to be sound. When I looked you could get a reasonably priced used subframe. By the way, we sold the car in 2021, but I saw it last fall, so she's still going!
@c.5185 ай бұрын
It's too bad we are not neighbors. I honestly dont know what to do with this car. $500 in. New belt, ac compressor. Added egr valve last year, and throttle the year before. I am no mechanic, but i did throttle n egr replacement. The belt and compressor were beyond me. So... i asked a mechanic to fix it. But now the car feels different a bit, driving feels diff. I heard dropping subframe can mess with alignment. He said he only dropped 2 bolts, and he was scared they might snap, but supposedly they didnt. He dropped it just enough to get to compressor. My issues with car are needed brakes. But the subframe has always been a headache. Most garages dont want to work on it. My section is just like yours. Where you pointed to. Wish i could get it welded, but would prolly cost me a fortune. Tell me, for an '06 500 sel, do you see any on market. Is buying a used one cheaper than having it welded? Oh i forgot, i checked the front if car, i see the spot with the bolt the rubber part , its gray, looks old and has a small piece missing. It sits between subframe and frame it connects to. Its rubber and has bumps pointing up, what is that? If a piece is cracked or missing that can be good. Sigh...
@lamarzimmermanmennonitefar52695 ай бұрын
The rubber piece is a rubber isolator. We bought an 01 3rd Gen 4runner to replace the Ford, and in some ways it feels like bad luck has been following it ever since. I was really hard on it and wrecked one door and destroyed the front differential and a lot more. By now there's so much broken, it's cheaper to buy a second wrecked 4runner to salvage parts off of....... I definitely feel your pain.
@lamarzimmermanmennonitefar52695 ай бұрын
Thankfully or Ford five hundred was as reliable as it was ugly. 😄. My boss gave it to me and bought a fusion and he's on his second fusion. They look good and drive nice, but he's got rust problems, leaky gas filler, leaky diff, leaky sunroof and systemic rust. So far the old five hundred has outlived them all!
@c.5185 ай бұрын
@@lamarzimmermanmennonitefar5269 thank you for the info, i will look up what an isloator does and if i can easily buy a new one. Yeah, cars suck huh. It's like we take 2 steps forward but then 6 steps back. I hear you on the rust. Guy i got it from was a retired mechanic, years back, and he promised to fix subframe once i pointed it out after buying, i totally missed it. And he was going to either get a used part, or have a friend weld it. He was very skilled with info, knew what he was talking about. But then he ghosted me😅 after a few back n forths on scheduling fix. So you regret selling the 500 huh. Btw, NICE JOB on your weld fix
