Lovely how close all the AW cast was. You rarely ever heard of real life drama or fights from any of them.

I have a question: When the soap opera wins for "Outstanding Daytime Drama", does the entire cast and crew get an emmy statue? Or just the producers?
@andreaela98 ай бұрын
I would guess it’s like the Best Picture Oscar where only the producers get the award…unfortunately

@@andreaela9 ~ Oh. Well that's not right. They wouldn't have a show without the cast and crew...

Jacklyn Zeman said in an interview that she voted for Rena Sofer. I’ll post that part of the article. “After years of playing the good trouper in some of the lamest stories, Zeman triumphed in last year’s heart-transplant storyline, and earned her second Emmy nomination. Her cast mate Rena Sofer (Lois) took home the Supporting Actress trophy, but there were no sour grapes. The actress says, ‘I never expected to win, quite frankly. I actually only had two shows to submit. They were wonderful scenes, but that storyline was very short. It was a week of storyline, and then it was over. If a show focused around you for a year or six months, where you have a storyline that is drawn out and you’re doing a lot of publicity, you’re in a much better position to pull, because you’ve got more colors, more choices, more things to do. I think Rena had that, and she’s been wonderful at it because she’s been able to deliver those dimensions. I voted for her because I think she’s a wonderful actress.” -Jacklyn Zeman interview in Soap Opera Weekly magazine [October 17, 1995].

Crazy good competition. A case could be made for all five. Sydney Penny as Julia on AMC was actually eligible for the Younger Actress category but honestly could have gone Lead once the Pine Valley tornado hit. She rocked it those last six months of the year and probably would have gotten my vote wherever she submitted.

I've seen this clip so many times but I've never noticed before how she got a huge standing ovation! Every single person in that room agreed she deserved this win! However, my top choice in 1995 was Leslie Charleson followed by Susan Lucci; but Slezak is ALWAYS a deserving winner.

Delighted for Charles Keating's win. He was an exceptionally talented actor. Susan Lucci was *robbed* the scenes she submitted were her career best work. Jess Walton was also destined for a win. It is no surprise that Walton and Lucci would be rewarded with Emmys in the ensuing years.
