As a 41 years old male i would say that this scene and whole game and its music has affected whole emotional part of me very deeply. This might be a next best thing in this whole journey of emotional growing (Not sure how to say it. I'm not native english speaker) after my mother and all the thousands of hugs and kisses she gave me as a kid. I remember how this touched me then and does it still today.

I've just witnessed Loveless scene at FF7 Rebirth, and came to watch this masterpiece again. Could not stop thinking what "stage scenes" like this one in FF6 and "I want to be your Canary" in FF9 would be. People usually complains too much against remakes, but I just wanted to relive all of this again!

PSA, if you have never played FF6, get a Gameboy advance emulator on your phone and play the GBA version of this game. Looks identical and plays spectacularly on phone. Just beat FF6 and it was wonderful!

The opera's story is most relevant to Locke. Locke sees Celes perform this and it helps him let go of Rachel.

I am playing though this game right now for my first time and just got to this part and well… I now firmly understand why this game is beloved so much. Its just. Wow. I’m still fairly young in the grand scheme of things and I’m glad I got to experience this wile still in the age group most people were when fist playing this back when it came out. (at least I assume that they were around my age)
