lol If you're struggling to find the joke then move on. Purposely trying to be negative is crazy, especially on an inital listen.

The look on your face says everything, you shouldn't react to anymore punk rock. Some people just dont get it. Stick to emo.. Karen.

Live in Tampa version is the best version of this song. I don’t understand it but it sounds better than the studio version

Of course its about anal sex, Maynard loves to use its innuendo meaning into his lyrics that can also be interpreted differently which is the beauty and brilliance of Tool. The next album is ripe with many of those innuendos. The live version of this song shows a transvestite stripping on stage hinting into its meaning and remember Maynard wanted and loves to do comedy. As rigid as he may seem in public to many, to his colleagues and friends he's a straight up clown hence all those wacky outfits onstage especially during 96-98 era. Thank God someone had the forethought to video some of these ridiculously great live shows back then. Most definitely my favorite period from the band live. Musically they get better with age but for the shear angst and grit nothing compares ✌🏽♥️

Hello Lauren. What can i say. You are not like the usual reactors out there. Like simple but deep in the same time. Suffered alot and burned out. Made the heart of stone with protective barriers up. Tough person, tough girl. And that nervous smile , every time you get excited about something. It is shown , that you have been trough alot. And i like it , i like all of that. Just wanted to say , you are not alone. Wish i be there and give you a big hug. Similar souls can see each other. If you wana talk sometimes , for anything, just make a call to me. Wish all good!

This song has a lot to do with the Ex he never got over (Elizabeth was her name). They were together for 10 years. In September Sun, off of the last album, he screams her name during the chorus. Every heart break song from October Rust forward was about Elizabeth.

I love Pete's accentuation and subtle expressions of feelings going from abandonment, to anguish to anger in a split second in his voice. He's an amazing vocalist!

The Smiths was my goto band when feeling down way back when I was a youngster. Listening to them made me kinda realise there's always people worse off than me. Other late 20th century bands that may ignite your interest: The God Machine, Morphine, Thin White Rope, Violent Femmes....just to name a few. Great reactions btw!

It's not a tragic song. It's a song about coping with the reality of death. The anger, the loss. searching for something that can't be found but, I'm hoping.
