Dawg I read that whole tumblr post and man that’s the most concrete thing I’ve seen connecting these two games together and it was a very interesting read through! I wish these teams had more time back then to officially weave these games together and make it more cohesive cause it seems had their plans gone through we could’ve had an interesting trilogy of games. (If the poster is correct in their memory of that interview with one of the developers interested in making a silver the hedgehog game) everything else had good sources to back it up, thanks for the info 🙏🏾

Soundtrack is one of the best in the series, the level design is some of the best in the series (06, Adventure and Frontiers are the only games that truly feel open when playing them), the voice acting was the best in the series at the time excluding SatAM, it's probably the only game until Forces that doesn't have embarrassing acting. Soleanna as a location slaps. I adore the tone and atmosphere of the game, its characters are goofy and funny as usual but take the situation seriously, the bonds of the characters feel genuine and expanding, there is actual flow and thought put into their actions and you constantly understand their motivations (something that wasn't present in the older games except Heroes and Shadow, things just randomly happened and characters just randomly traveled to locations before). Now to my 2 favorite subjects of the game. One is the villain, Solaris, specifically its talkative half Mephiles the Dark. I ADORE Mephiles, Mephiles IS the best villain in this entire franchise, there isn't a figure more imposing, a voice more menacing, a goal more evil. Mephiles is him, he is the quintessential Sonic villain, he has it all. And lastly, the story. Yo, yoooo, I will never NEVER understand the hate for 06's story, it's lunacy. The scapegoat is plot holes usually and to that I'll just say are you kidding me people? Half of Sonic Adventure's events are plot holes, Sonic Adventure 2 is a plot hole generator (and Knuckles' side of things was always especially hole-y, the way his campaign starts, how he finds the pyramid randomly, how he escapes a random sewer and oh so conveniently bumping STRAIGHT INTO Tails and Amy) and this game might have the most of all, Heroes is mostly fine in terms of plot holes, let's not even get started on Shadow the Hedgehog lol. None of these games (except maybe Shadow) get 💩 for having an infinite amount of plot holes, why does 06? Why is this the exception? Its story comes together better than MANY others so why does this happen? I'll tell you why, cause people WANT to hate this game, especially around the 2009-2015 timespan due to KZfaq creators doing it with extrimism and over exaggerations 06 became a game people wanted to hate, the "glaring issues" are present in the entire series and yet only 06 catches the punches. So anyway, I adore it, Sonic's side is boring and repetitive but every other character has something interesting to do or say. It's the best use of the cast to this day, 06 should be the foundation of every game going forward in terms of cast usage. I won't yap any longer, I'll just also drop the negatives to not come off as a fanboy. Performance is bad on the PS3 (although glitches on casual playthroughs aren't as common as people say), Blaze's implementation is really bad, Mach speed sections are broken in design and only cool conceptually, how everyone landed in the time-space rift together is a convenience that doesn't make sense, Elise being given an Emerald so young makes no sense unless she lost it shortly after and reclaiming it prior to 06's events so the rest of the games can happen, Rouge and Knuckles' wall climbing is insultingly bad, loading screens are only an issue if you do the Town Missions, speaking of Town Missions mostly suck. So yeah, 06, 8/10 game 👍

@@AnarchoTak I adore 06 gameplay, it's the closest thing to Adventure 1 they've ever done since that game in 1998. The homing attack is the best in the Adventure Era for me, the spin kick looks cool AF and better than the SA2 somersault, Silver's gameplay is PEAK AF, I love most of it. Knuckles and Rouge are the only characters that genuinely play horribly and that's due to the abysmal wall climbing. And Amy, Amy's laughably bad lol. The game doesn't feel slow in the levels cause the level design is built around that speed, the levels have amazing flow to them. Only thing that feels slow is Silver in the Soleanna valley. And I love Unleashed as well like I mentioned in my OG comment! 06 is second place, I do think Unleashed is the best Sonic game of all time!

Maybe one day when chaosx drops the boss fight update I’ll drop a review of the whole game since that game is absolute gas
