Just for the record us humans or any of our tech isnt sufficiently advanced enough to do the bare basic minimum calculations to traverse the void and go from starsystem to star system. Its a 4d mapping problem we cant even phrase the problem properly thus far. Anything we have is trivial compared to a space faring civilisation. Anything we invented them invented ages ago. Thats just how science works.

We hardly manage the trivial cousin problem going from planet to planet. O 0

@@Nakatoa0taku Ummm actually... we have the know-how to send objects planet-to-planet. We've landed satellites on comets. We could send humans to other planets in our solar system if we really, really, really wanted to, but the cost is high and the rewards too low. The feats humanity has achieved to date within our solar system wouldn't be possible without a solid understanding of "4d mapping".

have some issues with this story logic. First they describe the Earth technology looks like modern times level using fosil fuel and kinetic weapons and suddenly it's jumps to far future energy weapons and technologies? I didm't listen to the end because just the story telling was so naive and out of logic that can't be bothered more. Second, the last alian left alive appaently have the autority to make history changing choices for their race? Give me a brake. i think if i had listened to the end will have even more glaring stupidity, but i digress ....

A pretty dumb story, really. Tanks on the moon can't protect ships taking off from earth. Tank shells can't reach more than a few hundred kilometers above the surface of the moon. So there would be no reason for the zillions to get withing firing range.

even the wisest ruler, best general and greatest thinkers tend to look down on everyone once they come to a set point in life. rulers like alexander, hannibal, caesar, macarthur and so on all got it into their heads they always knew better then everyone else and look where those 4 ended up.

The author is definitely not educated about the Abrams. Without a way to resupply ammunition and most importantly, fuel, the vehicle's combat effectiveness is very limited.

@macmcleod118814 күн бұрын
@mejustme8138 well for one thing your comment makes me think you didn't listen to the story because that's not what the story is about. For another, over my entire life air power has always made the mistake of thinking they can win the ground and that's never happened. Airpower can destroy large Capital facilities and break up large troop formations. But that's about it. I recommend you listen to the story because it has some fresh ideas and may be the start of a series.
@mejustme813814 күн бұрын
@@macmcleod1188 ugh. I DID read the the story (not just listened to it), hence the comment. Space superiority is in no way the same as air power. Weird that you seem to think there is some kind of parallel. On earth, there are always alternative routes to land infantry, but in interplanetary warfare there is only one.

The fact that we as a species did not have a contingency for this very scenario is frightening to say the very least. I would call the project project gecko, project gecko would essentially be multiple libraries each filled with copies of original works hidden around both earth and other planets hidden either in plain site or out of site. Imagine decentralized libraries with the ability to self destruct if captured by hostiles that had disarmed us as a species.
