I didn’t know about the Centennial Challenge, but I did start my own mission to visit more of the local state parks this year. I’ve already been to Saratoga Spa, Peebles Island, Grafton Lakes and Schodack Island. Next up is Thacher.

New York is beautiful! as are the parks and recreation. But please don't take any more than you already have. Just keep what you have nice and I'll be happy paying taxes for it.

Maybe you should train your people at the Academy treat people like human beings I like animals like the guy at Lakeside it's okay for cops to lie though put you out of the part and not even give you a paper that says why and then steal your money it's okay but it's not okay with me cameras don't lie if this cop lied to give me a ticket then will you still have his job? Cuz I'm pretty angry about it honestly and the overzealous overbearing park manager who calls me at home to harass me call me I don't know where your money went just to harass me at home and I'm not lying I don't lie like cops do and that thing Danielle Gavin at the freaking Park I'm not done with this there's a giraffe to be someone in our government that will listen to me but if they don't it will be the news and doesn't federal government law override this Scofflaw it was unconscionable what the f*** they did to me

Or are you really there just to enforce the rules you feel like enforcing and pick on for handicapped people and eject them from the park for no reason? 400 and something pages of New York State Park laws! If you enforce them all everybody would have be evicted! But you only pick time for handicapped people like me! I can't wait to get to court I was ejected from the park illegally they stole my money yeah no matter what I have to do in our government or lawyers I'm getting my $120 back! And the one who runs the park at Lakeside with her Facebook with a baby on the porch drinking a beer looking all glassy-eyed Danielle Gavin she should be fired! Pictures on her Facebook with her baby at a brewery what did you do to her for that? Did you arrest everybody that was drinking beer screaming at night and disrupting my stay? Did you arrest your highly-paid park manager Daniel Gavin for calling me at home to arise meet after I was evicted from my Park illegally? Wow I wasn't enjoying that cop at Lakeside Beach maybe I should mention his name because he lied! And it has nothing to do with me doing anything wrong it has to do with the pictures! If you people enforced every law out of the four hundred Pages everybody's violating one of them the only person they enforce them on was the poor handicapped guy had f17 at Lakeside I got along with everyone except Danielle Gavin and the nice cop who came then came back a mean ugly nasty one sure hope he told the truth on his little statement

I was so glad it became a state park, but now it needs to become a national historic site because it is truly a hidden historical place. It may have not been a big battle, but it was a battle that helped us win the war with the Indians who were loyal to the crown.

I was born and raised in Elmira what it was once called Newtown. The battle actually happened just east of town in the village of lowman, but you would pronounce it as Loughman.

Any advice on saving a young one in my yard? It is 40’ and has balanced or equal split crotch at top third. What is best strategy for taking a former split crotch that ended up being a bigger side branch half way up? Would love to know best way to connect. Figure I can manage pest in my yard.

What do State Parks have to do with sexual identity? Get off it. Way to push your personal agenda in a job paid for by NY taxpayers.

My father worked as a flagman on the caboose for the New Haven Maybrook line. When I was seven (1964) he took me with him to work, and I first crossed that bridge in the caboose with him. The second time, and just before he retired about a year later, he took me again, this time I got to ride in the lead locomotive! I cherish those memories. Boh times we were traveling west bound to Maybrook. Little did I know that only a year later, (1969) I would lose my dad due to a heart attack. So yes, that bridge has a place in my heart. I still live in the area, and have walked it many times

If driving from the east, is the road up to Sam's Point very exposed and precipitous? I tried it once coming from the west (Ellenville) and the road got so high and exposed I had to turn around.
