I’d like to bring it to attention cause a lot of people don’t seem to really see this but this ending has the purest form of music theory I’ve ever seen. When you listen to Gamma’s theme, the entire song is made up of synths, computer generated sounds, and robotic noises, except for the main melody that’s plaid by a somber piano, a natural instrument. Almost as if Gamma’s robotic body is represented by everything else, and the little bird, organic life, is represented in the piano. So what happens when Gamma explodes and the flicky is released? The ending theme begins only with that piano, followed by an orchestra of all organic instruments. No computer generated one in sight. Music Theory can really assist in storytelling, and this is my favorite example of it.

You know, I honestly don't think Unleashed is as much of a masterpiece as people say, simply for the fact that we're comparing Unleashed with all the crappy games that followed it (excluding Colors and Generations later on). Besides the day levels and the end boss, the game was ok to mediocre. Still, we can all agree it brought sonic to a whole new standard, which Sonic Team has decided to blatantly ignore countless times.

I’ve so much dread for this level, so many game overs as a kid and when I did beat it it was with 0 rings and a pitiful E rank. Whenever I replayed the levels id give this one a bash but rarely finish it. Beating the hard mode mission a few years back was a great moment of facing my fears

The music here is better than Final Rush’s, and this is a Shadow level, but I can see why Shadow generations is using Rush’s theme. It’s an easier theme to remix and fits more with the other non-vocal level themes

Replayed both unleashed and generations and both versions are great Generations really excels in capturing what was fun about the original level and innovating said level with some new setpieces.
