its depressing visiting this glacier as an albertan. I went there when i was a kid , then went there 2 years ago and to see how much it has melted. When i have children this glacier will probably be gone.

I spent 17 years in Search and Rescue specializing in mountain rescue and avalanche rescue. You made a wise and brave decision! It’s a fool who doesn’t recognize and ACT on reducing risks. You have to ask yourself “what are the consequences of pushing further?” If it’s life threatening or major injury then unless you’re extremely skilled AND the conditions are ideal DONT GO! I’ve done too many body recoveries.

Like in India ... tigers / cougars .. rarely attack from the front .... so where your sunglasses facing the back of your head ... (eyes for them) ... or hat with 2 big dots facing back ~ (umbrella over shoulder) .... ~ don't wear BELLS .. here kitty kitty ... ding a ling bells attracts just like cat toys !

Right before 5:03 is where my fear made me turn around the first time I tried Angel's Landing. The next time, we made it up to Scout's Lookout 🤙 That's far enough for me, but overcoming the fear from the first time and making it to SL was a great feeling

Next, come to Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine and give Precipice a try! It'll be a piece of cake after this one. This is by far the best, and most inspiring video of climbing angels landing I have ever seen. What a wonderful way to overcome. It was a joy to watch. Thank you!

I worked at those Ice Fields one summer and I did a trek on the glacier in a guided tour, you wouldn’t catch me dead on a glacier without a guide, you have no idea when you’re on an ice bridge and if it collapses you’re gone. Your hike and your photography is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

I have to say that when I first saw your videos on your other channel I wasn’t too sure….. But now, you have become a part of my early morning routine. I listen to you everyday. These hiking videos you create are absolutely the best. The cinematography, the music, the descriptions of where you are and what surrounds you, your endless enthusiasm and pure enjoyment and passion for each and every hiking video you share is greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much!!

I’m so glad you were happy. Our backyard being from Calgary. We have done the hike to Egypt lake cabin and then hike from there. 3 days of pleasure. Also did it from sunshine gondola to Egypt lake cabin. You need to try that. No regrets there. Just a long hike to Egypt lake cabin. You did a great job.

Your video is excellent because viewing it is really vertiginous and scary. I hope that being actually there be somewhat softer on our nerves than watching someone hike it in a movie. Congratulations by the way for your choice of the right gloves to grip the chain all along. The two kids before you had no gloves ... nevertheless, I think that they helped lift your spirit and bolster your confidence. It is kind of strange to see so mani people at the top, relaxing and looking just as if standing up there was the most natural thing in the world.

The chains aren't needed anywhere on Angels Landing. The toughest part of the brisk walk is barely Class 2. Unless you make very dumb choices, get near the edge, or roll down a hill, you are never at risk of falling off. I know it might seem tough for someone who is afraid of heights or views this only through a camera lens, but you really do have to get stupidly close to most edges to fall.

In 50 years of hiking, climbing, mountain biking + professional forester survey work I encountered every animal we have, up close; Grizzlies, wolves, wolverines, moose, black bears, cougars etc and the only critter that ever actually attacked me was a nasty mama Grouse on the red rock lookout trail near lillooet. Seriously aggressive and went right for the Junk!

Hello there! I have never watched any of your videos before, but I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. I initially thought it would be just another cool trail video, but it turned out to be one of the best videos I've ever seen. The production and quality of the video are top-notch, and the storytelling and drama were captivating. I felt the fear, adrenaline, and emotions right along with you, and I truly felt the triumph. You did an amazing job, and I will definitely subscribe to your channel.

Climbed it with friends from Nellis Air Force Base in 1981. The video made me feel like I was there again. I remembered the endless switchbacks but forgot how long that actual knife edge ridge climb is, and how terrifying! I have acrophobia too.

Turn the music down a tiny bit next time. I’m very sorry you went through a divorce. It’s one of the hardest things to ever go through in life. The best time of year to do that hike is in September or October or anytime after March preferably April or May is the perfect weather to go there summertime is not the time to go because of the risk of flash, flooding and thunderstorms that come out of nowhere even if they are not showing on the weather. I know this because I only live about two hours away from Zion.
