And while I think it is unlikely, I could definitely see Miyazaki or George writing him as that one character that outside looks like a dumb criminal but in reality he is the smartest one that figured out more than even Gideon the All Knowing himself. Shame that I doubt we will get anything more from him in the upcoming DLCs but I would love to see it.

The transition between the dragon them and Gwyn's theme reveals an interesting simile. They seem to have almost the same background progression albeit scale shifted. Perhaps it was intended to show how the dragons have a much slower and steady perception of time, since they are immutable, and need merely wait for the upstart gods and their minions to fade with the fire to come back into undisputable power; if they even care about it at all. On the other hand, Gwyn's theme is much more emotionally wrought with a sense of desperation, loss, and despair at the prospect of the flame's fading.

you can actually parry gwyn at the peak of his jump. If you press riposte just after parry he'll warp to the ground being stabbed.

I just hope they don't wu long the loot system, having to farm to get a weapon only to have it not have the intricate stat you need or the special moves sucked. A theory about the origin of Mesmer Hey there everyone, I have a little Theorie about Messmers origins. And I would really like to hear your thoughts on it. I think he could be the Son of Rany while she still had her original body. By killing her body she wanted to shatter the power that the Greater will had over her. And maybe she disgardet Messmer, or banished him to the land of shadow to keep him a secret from the greater will. So that the greater will could not use him against her. After all, Miasaki only said in the interview that Messmer has a similar status to Marika's children. He didn't say that he was a child of Marika. And I think he wouldn't specify that if it wasn't important. This theory would also explain his red hair, as Rani's original body also had red hair. And why he was left out of all the legends stories and records we find in the game, no one knew of his existence. Furthermore, in the Age of the Stars ending, Rani makes the Tarnished her lord/consort, which would also explain why Mesmer asks his mother why she would choose a Tarnished as her lord. Oh and something else that caught my eye, during the trailer you see a painting with an older man and a young woman with a hand on her stomach, which is probably supposed to symbolize pregnancy, I could well imagine that that is Rani, as she still had her human form, and Rani often has two hands on her lap. (very close to her stomach) I'm not sure but I think the theory is plausible, what do you guys think?

I’ve said this since the first trailer but I think Messmer is the bastard son of rykard, and that the lands of shadow are the penal colony mentioned in the exile soldier armor set and they (along with the banished knights) were his loyal underlings until the shattering and Messmer did his betrayal thing.

Triplets. The main thing that makes me think that is the 3 different types of butterflies you can get around the Lands Between, two of them represent Miquella and Malenia. But the Smoldering Butterfly, why does that one exist? We originally thought it was meant to resemble Melina with her being a Kindling Maiden and all that. But it also makes sense being Messmer with his blasphemous flame. Maybe it’s meant to represent both of them..? Theory 3: 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐧.This one doesn’t have a lot of evidence, but it does have a little. Messmer and Melina both only have one eye and they are missing the same eye. We still don’t know a lot about Melina, basically the only thing we know is that she was born at the base of the Erdtree. Maybe Melina, along side Messmer, was born at the base of the Erdtree soon after it was made? Theory 4: 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝. This theory was originally thought of by my Father. I modified it a bit tho and added my own speculations, but overall this one makes the most sense to me. So a Bastard Child is a child born out of wedlock. So maybe, a long time before Godfrey(or maybe while she war Married to Godfrey), Queen Marika had a child with someone else and gave birth to Messmer. And Queen Marika being…well, Marika used Messmer to wage war against people she didn’t like or who she saw as a threat towards the Golden Order. OR maybe to wage war against the father because he abandoned her? And the reason why Messmer is in the Land of Shadows is because either Marika was ashamed of Messmer so she left him there(wouldn’t be the only time abandoning/shunning a child) or she tasked Messmer to protect something. Like how Ornstein and Smough were protecting Gwynevere. Or, a more relevant example, how Maliketh was protecting Destined Death. …hello! Thanks for reading my absurdly long comment.
