Holy shit! We are so back! Never liked the streaming services either. I usually just listen to my huge wav/mp3 collection of albums from a bunch of bandcamp artists and for everything else I got youtube lol.

1:17 where is the "step skip" button?
@kalibration10 күн бұрын
bottom of the edit tab, the 3 blocks with an arrow. it's to the right of the big Q and to the left of the vol/pan/dly/fx buttons. alternatively you can set your skip amount by pressing ctrl+(number) using the number keys at the top of your keyboard (not the numpad)

Great tutorial and Renoise is a fantastic tracker. I started off using Octamed and Fasttracker back in the day. I made this remix of the Pogo song Redrum using Renoise. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nKeRd5xe0rLefJc.html

earliest stuff i can stand keeping on the internet: screamcatcher.bandcamp.com/ breakcore from when i was first getting into trackers: bobbyzilch.bandcamp.com/ footwork from my dj era (its all free downloads because that project was a duo & its so sample-heavy) soundcloud.com/attunement-music 2016-present releases: kalibration.bandcamp.com/ weird one-off project i did in 2019 while living in a garage: atonement192.bandcamp.com theres a lot more rares and functionally unreleased i could try to dig up, but my friend who archived most of the stuff that i tried to get rid of got hacked and doesn't go on the internet anymore. i have 2 ancient screamcatcher albums, a 2013 bobby zilch EP thats a collab with a noise guy who tried to move himself into my apartment, and my 2 hilariously bad first attempts at dubstep records that only ever got made and started this whole mess because a guy who ordered knives to my house texted me one day "have u ever heard of skrillix". i don't really want to publicly (re-)release any of those so just email me/dm on twitter if you want those too. thanks

Just started getting into trackers yesterday with LSDJ. Holy shit, sound design while composing. I don't remember the last time I had so much fun making music. I might have to learn renoise.
@YoupiMatos22 ай бұрын
Holy shit I did exactly the same. I recommend learning Renoise if you had fun with lsdj

Over the years, I've tried so many DAW's and even 100% hardware setups using physical sequencers. At a certain point I just hit a wall and it stops being fun, and busy-work creeps in. Renoise on the other hand just seems totally expansive and although the learning curve is initially steep for those used to the highly-graphical interfaces of modern DAWs, all of Renoise's faculties orbit around similar or identical principles (and only handful of different edit screens), so you can actually master it relatively quickly. Its the only piece of software I've ever used that has the rigidity and definitiveness that hardware has. There's simply no room for messing around because it's a completely distructive workflow. You have to get stuff right first time, because most of what you do gets rendered into samples, sometimes multiple-generation samples!! I love that, especially the rather brutal musical approach that it engenders. Another reason I probably won't ever go back to using a traditional DAW is because Renoise packs an unbelievable amount of information on a single screen. Being able to see your music laid out in streams of data is invaluable, and something I also love about hardware sequencers. I don't want to see my drum programming laid out as musical notes on a graphical piano roll! That's just horrible, all I want to see is the raw inputted data, and of much of it as possible, so that I know exactly what is happening at any given moment and thus I can make decisions and actualise musical ideas as soon as they enter my head with as little distraction as possible. Renoise lets you see stream upon stream of sequenced data, over multiple tracks. I think that is the number one reason it's workflow feels so fast. The tracker interface should be the industry standard for electronic music production!
