I always thought that it is pointless to compare "resources". Given his popularity, I am almost certain that Cheng Yi would have had a lot more if he wanted. But he will never do so because of his integrity and his dedication to his profession.

I wish people would stop talking about the female lead before she even starts to film. I heard several times that the female lead for the Promise of Chang An does not have CP feeling with Cheng Yi. However since I am a total outsider, I did not know anything about CP feeling, I did not feel anything off at all. I liked her and thought Cheng Yi and her worked really well together (the scene where he was choked while eating the cake and she was helping him to drink the tea for example. Look at their eyes (both of them have just the right gaze). I thought it was perfect. I think both roles are actually pretty hard to play. Cheng Yi did such a wonderful job. The female lead was not bad at all. I think Cheng Yi really nailed it when it comes to his profession. He has so much insight that is unique. One of which is that each viewer has his or her own understanding of the character in the drama and not everyone will feel the same way if I remember correctly.

Good video, very well said, author. Do people really have trouble believing why Cheng Yi has become more cautious and reserved in the public eye or do they not want to believe it? If I remember correctly, he said that he does not eat musubi because someone duped him into eating a spoonful in the past and it cast a shadow on his heart. If a spoonful of musubi could have left a negative effect on him, I don't believe for a second that the atrocious incident has no negative impact on him regardless of how he denies it, especially if it is as bad as I have heard so far. I did some quick research, it seems that victims of cyberbullying may have a range of negative emotions. Instead, this horrendous cyberbullying only makes him more cautious and reserved in the spotlight, which itself is a miracle. This is purely due to his strong mental fortitude. Just think what he was like before the horrific event. He was an open and playful child and adolescent. He grew up in a warm and loving family in an idyllic town where most people may be pure and simple. Then he not only went to a large metropolitan city but also entered a circle that is complicated and full of people with hidden agenda (some of whom can also be unscrupulous). In this circle, money, power, and old-boy networks appear to be seemingly more important than almost anything else. I am just sad that he has to learn the hard way how unkind, vicious or even malicious some unprincipled people can be. We always hear people say that someone grew up overnight. I think that is exactly what has happened to Cheng Yi (except it is not overnight, but over several brutal months if what I have heard are all true). He elected to spend his energy and time on pursuing his dream and give up social media. He has chosen to remain a gentleman with a simple and innocent mind, and a kind and pure heart because of his tremendous inner strength and his strong value system (Kudos to his grandparents and parents). I also think he is where he has been destined to be (although some people have worked hard trying to stop him)

Well said, author. We all need to feel sorry for those people, who cannot believe someone could be generous out of kindness. It seems that they may lack empathy. This particular kindness shows his thoughtfulness. He has killed two birds with one stone. Some people think that it is only out of modesty that Cheng Yi said the success of a drama is the result of everyone working together. I happen to think that is only one reason (modesty). The other reason is that he truly believes it. I think Cheng Yi is exactly what he appears to be, and all his generosity is due to his appreciation of his colleagues (especially those who are working behind the scenes), his Guo Guo (for their generous support) and his hometown (for all the happy memories). He does not take anyone or anything for granted. Cheng Yi is what-you-see-is-what-you-get.
Well said, author. Here is food for thought: If I were a member of the Guo Guo community, I would stop doing some of the following things: Use the word "Nei Xi". When I heard so many not very flattering things about "Huan Ri", I thought it was one of (if not) the worst companies in the world. Of course, my emotional brain has been taking me on a rollercoaster ride (disbelieving, indignant, to name a couple). Now I finally got my analytical brain back in action. I start to think that it really does not matter what type of company Huan Ri is. What matters is Cheng Yi has chosen to work there. Cheng Yi is a mature and intelligent gentleman. He knows what is best for himself. As long as Huan Ri does not do anything that is detrimental to Cheng Yi's career, it is okay. Trying to be objective. I have noticed that information on social media seems to always be not as objective as those on more formal communication channels are. If I am trying too hard to appear objective, I am essentially binding my own hands. My job is to present favorable and factual information about Cheng Yi. There are a lot of other people who will present not only unfavorable information but more importantly misinformation about him. My job, as his supporter, is to overwhelm the misinformation since that is the only thing I can do. Using boilerplate languages. These types of languages are easy to be misinterpreted and exploited. If I say something like, Cheng Yi has not played this type of role before. It will be a new challenge for him. I know that someone is going to make that sentence unrecognizable later and use it again Cheng Yi. Instead, I would say something like, Cheng Yi has performed in various types of dramas ranging from Fairy, Period to Contemporary. Cheng Yi always enjoys new challenges. All of his performances have been superb. As a talented, versatile and creative actor, he always looks for new dramas that would bring his performance to the next level. This drama will provide another opportunity for him to excel in his continuous pursuit of excellence. Repeating criticisms of any "experts". These "experts" need to do this for a living, but I do not. There will be quite a number of people who are eager to repeat the unfounded criticisms. Drama is a different type of art than ballet dancing, playing the piano etc . Drama has fewer specific criteria for technical techniques. That is why Cheng Yi is so good because he understands it (he said something like, viewers are the best judges). These "experts" do not represent a diverse group of viewers from all walks of life and all ages. Therefore, their opinions should not be fed to other viewers to prevent them from enjoying their drama. Why do you think companies and restaurants want their customers to give them 5-star reviews? Be defensive of everything under the sky and talk about others. I cannot win every battle. I must be strategic in such a complex environment. As Cheng Yi's Guo Guo, I am special. That is why I do not do things just because others are doing it. I do not have any time to think about anyone else but Cheng Yi. Learning to be able to prioritize and to look at things from a different perspective is a must. When it is of no significance except making me feel better by proving them wrong, I would only talk among ourselves if need to and for fun (privately). I would learn from Cheng Yi and let it go. When a few people try to turn an act of kindness into a cost, I would not bother to respond to them. I would turn that around and focus on the deficiency in their value system, which seems everything is about money. Kindness itself is a generosity. It is all about consideration, concern for others without expecting praise or reward in return. Cheng Yi is an extremely kind gentleman. My apologies for using your video again. I thought you may be one of his Guo Guo. Please feel free to share if you want to. I'm here rooting for all of you.

Because Cheng Yi is such a superb, versatile actor and a creative artist, he is more than capable to do a outstanding job. But everyone needs to watch out for the naysayers to bias potential viewers by expressing all kinds unfounded "expert's opinions. That's when all the Guo Guos need to overwhelm the nonsense with his truth talents and full confidence in him. Always say, it's no big deal, given his talent and experience. Please don't say the type of boilerplate language such as it's a test of his ability etc. Cheng Yi has more than proved himself to be capable to excel in any role, contemporary, period or any other dramas. The nonsense like his speech was not good in mysterious lotus casebook is a good example of how this type of preconceived idea works. They plant the seeds and let potential viewers to grow them before the drama is even produced. Please watch out and don't use ambiguous languages. Let's start to extol his performing skills when talking about the upcoming drama each and every time. This is more important than anything. PS: I can feel my emotional brain is fighting with my analytical brain. But the word, "nonsense", is necessary here for emphasis. So my apologies. One more point, please let as many videos parrot your videos when all Guo Guos use absolutely confident languages. Quite a number of them out there parrot unfounded statements.
Your speaking the whole truth, we don't need to hear any negative feed and put down about Qiqi. He has proven himself, very worthy

Cheng Yi seems to have great respect for females and he appears to be very gentle with them too. He really seems to be a perfect sweetheart. Guo Guo ought to be flattered that those people think they are "AI fans". I heard AI is smarter than a lot of people. I'm glad his loyal fans have learned to ignore them. I think highly of Cheng Yi's true loyal fans (Guo Guo). Birds of a feather flock together. I'm sure that given Guo Guo and Cheng Yi share some common values, they will continue to make him proud. Those people are not worthy of their time, which they could use to extol his virtues. The more Guo Guo pays no heed to them, the desperate they may become. They may double their efforts to provoke Guo Guo. If I were Guo Guo, I would start to be more strategic. As Winston Churchill said “Never let a good crisis go to waste.” If I were a Guo Guo community member, I would try to see what lessons can be learned from the past few days. For example, I was wondering if it might have been better to just leave the offensive messages on and let more people see them. It would have been emotionally devastating. But would it not have been "the straw that broke the camel's back"? Then there may be an official investigation due to the outcry from the public. Some people like to use freedom of speech to justify their abusive remarks. But they must learn that freedom of speech comes with responsibilities. You cannot use it to slander other people. If I were a Guo Guo community member, I would categorize the type of messages into 1) character assassination, 2) insulting but not enough for legal action, 3) rude but rude enough to be insulting and 4) annoying. For category 1, document (keeping record) and report, but do not respond. No matter how hard, you may want more people to see it to create a public relation disaster for them. For category 2, let the public see the full ugliness, For category 3, every posting positive messages with lots of thumb-ups to bury them in the cyber space and category 4, simply ignore. I am only giving you examples here. I know Cheng Yi's Guo Guo are all very smart and talented. They will have better ideas than I do. The point here is to make sure that any Guo Guo does not give anyone any opportunity to use anything against Cheng Yi. The importance of public perception cannot be overestimated. We all have our own version of reality. Time has changed and the conditions have become more complicated. If I were Guo Guo, I would start to put some guardrails in. Cheng Yi seems to have one of the highest moral principles, which could serve as guardrails for Guo Guo's behaviors. I understand that "Shu Ju" (book keeping?) is one important element, Personally, I think that a positive image is equally important, especially for Cheng Yi's Guo Guo community. If I were a Guo Guo community member, I would start to seriously differentiate ourselves from both fans of other actors/actresses and Cheng Yi's other fans in a way that let the public know that we are special and embracing Cheng Yi's value. This way, it is less likely that other fans' behaviors would inadvertently damage the reputation of Cheng Yi and Cheng Yi's Guo Guo community. Even though Guo Guos are all volunteers, given the size, it may be a useful exercise to think about the community's vision and mission. Why not, the community is special and made up of generous and talented people. It does not have to be formal and no need to call them vision or mission. All that is needed is to agree upon sentences as vision (what to do, how to do it, and why to do it). Then proceed to the mission (to support Cheng Yi. What are some of the most valuable things/activities for them to do for such support?). If I remember correctly, Guo Guos actually already have a couple of good ones in one of the songs that were created for Cheng Yi. Given how talented this group is, I am sure the Guo Guo community could come up with some really good ones. It would be a fun activity to do. Keep posting them on Super Chat to remind everyone. As far as I can tell, the Guo Guo community already supports Cheng Yi to bring creativity, artistry, quality and integrity etc. back to his entertainment world. That is a noble mission. Combined with values, this may be one way to avoid constantly being manipulated by unscrupulous people and prevent the emotional brain from taking over when challenging situations occur. Trust me, I know as an outsider, who has known of Cheng Yi for only several months, I have been on an emotional rollercoaster (disbelieving, indignant, disconcerting, shock) ever since I started to learn more about him. Some of my past comments on KZfaq aimed to correct seemingly misinformation and criticize those who parroting unfounded statements. My critical thinking brain just kicked in (after getting over the shock and all other emotions of the latest cyber bullying). By doing this exercise, the Guo Guo community would have more positive messages for Super Chat and may also make it easier to plan activities that can kill two birds with one stone. It may also help to avoid acting or reacting randomly. Being methodic does not mean no spontaneity or creativity, it only means more focused and using less time to get more things done. Guo Guos may also be inspired by those positive messages and to be happy and fulfilled, which is what Cheng Yi wants for his Guo Guos. Guo Guos could extol Cheng Yi's virtues along with Guo Guo's own positive stories. The perception of the public may favor the Guo Guo community for its contribution to the high morale of other youngsters. One of the reasons Cheng Yi has black fans is because in their mind, Cheng Yi makes them look bad simply by being himself. Best of luck to Cheng Yi and his loyal fans. I am rooting for all of you from across the ocean. PS: The Guo Guo community is really awesome. My apologies for more unsolicited suggestions in your video, author. I hope you may be willing to share it with your Guo Guo community if possible as food for thought. I have been reading various comments on Cheng Yi's fans from various groups on the website. I think it is unfair to group all his fans together. His Guo Guos strike me as totally different types of fans. His Guo Guo community seems to play an important role in supporting Cheng Yi to reach the pinnacle of his profession. But working behind the scenes may not be enough. As a total outsider, I may offer a different perspective to minimize the opportunity that unprincipled people can use against him. I know he is extremely capable of dealing with them in his own way. However, I cannot help myself due to my highest regard for Cheng Yi, who is an extraordinary gentleman. As someone who never watched drama series or even hardly any movies, purely by chance, I came across his mysterious lotus casebook while visiting someone. I was captivated by his performance in mysterious lotus casebook. I like to read autobiographies and biographies, that is why I read/listened to all his interviews. His qualities as a human being pulled me in. I feel that I was destined to discover such a marvel. My apologies again for the unsolicited suggestions; I have what I feel is the best interest of Cheng Yi in mind. This wholesome gentleman deserves every kindness and cares. PPS: I don't know why some Guo Guos are also banned from Weibo. I thought it was unfair. But I know nothing about social media since I seldom use them.

None of the aforementioned. Especially the last one, no acting skill to speak off and dumb facial expressions... Cheng Yi deserves someone worthy of his time and effort...
