Yes it is a 40mm+ heavy duty springs front and back, 40mm spacers for back shocks, and adjustable camber bolts at front.

Yes mate, still got it, it's going pretty well so far and I don't really see a reason to change it atm. Diesel is pretty good choice, it is stronger and more and fitted with proper gear box, not CVT, and It is more expensive. My one 2.4 CVT, 2008 I fitted rear diff locker and pretty happy about it, it is exactly what I need for my purposes.

Трудно сказать, но Делика выгодно отличается технической частью и начинкой, Все остальные микроавтобусы полноприводные изначально, т.е без возможности управления раздаткой. Особенно дизельная модель хороша, её можно прошить, и коробка у неё не CVT. И это делает её серьёзным минивеном с хорошими задатка на 4х4...

Hey Johny, just checking mate been looking at a D5 recently. Would you recommend one? We are looking for a light 4x4 van to do Australia in. We wont have backup (another 4wd) so we wont be going crazy with the 4wd but will be nice to get through some slippery, tough sections. Sand etc. Cheers

Hi Brenno, Yes, D5 is definitely a car that has good 4x4 capabilities. It is hard to find something like Delica, I really like myself to travel with it, it is a luxury, very roomy, and very comfortable van. If you know what you are doing, you will be fine, I mean, many things in off-road driving depend on the driver itself... If you buy D5, I will recommend you to consider buying proper 4x4 tyres and good air compressor, especially if you are planning sand, dunes, and beach driving. The rest is all good. Lock-right lockers have problems. They can crack, or, they can simply not unlock when you want them to. CVT transmission is a belt system, & it isn't really what you want for proper four wheel driving. Belts can slip, or break.

I did already more than 35000km with this locker. All parts of it are properly made and from top quality high-grade steel. Are you using it by yourself or just read somewhere something? I fitted it by myself and can confirm, it is does the job what it designed for, and pretty dam good... What rellated CVT gearbox, I know it very well, and I can assure you It can handle a lot of pressure in the right hands...

Locker is pretty simple, and made from very high grade steel, but if something will go wrong you can order spares, or swapped it back for genuine one....

You say bigger tyres than standard on the D5, and presumably no lift? What size tyres did you run on the D5, and are the rims standard? ,

Now I got 16" rims from Mitsubishi Lancer, it is aftermarket wheels (standard which came with car was 18") On this video you could see 16" from Hyundai Santa Fe, 16" it is smallest size you could fit on D5. The tyres size which I found most comfortable for D5 is 235/70/R16 or around 29", otherwise it will scratch fenders.

D5s do not have a diff lock as standard, the lock on the dial just send more drive to the rear diff and the traction control aids in traction and fwd movement , the rear diff has a variable torque set-up in it for different conditions.

Hi. Can you tell me how you got your roof rack bars on? Rhino Rack doesn't offer a foot that connects to the type of fixed mount on D5s. Would love to know your solution. Thanks Greg

Hi mate, yes unfortunately Rhino rack do not have installation packages for D5s. What I did I bought 3 heavy duty Pro Racks (1.35m) bars and 2 K332 installation packages.

And later just fitted roof rack on top of bars. Really like this solution as it gives a lot of combinations to fit all 4wd stuff you need. And Pro Rack actually got a lot accessories for this bars.

@@andreiperthsmith8509 Many thanks. Much appreciated. Good to know I am not missing anything with Rhino Rack. But annoying as I have all the gear on my Challenger and thought it would be an easy swap over. Rhino Rack supplier offer to rivet tracks to the roof, but am not so keen on that idea.

Hi again. Just a question about putting 3 cross bars on top. Did you find the middle one was higher and therefore front and back needed to be packed up so the tray fitted and was level? I have the pro rack heavy bought and ready to go. Some Intel on what you found would be useful.

Biggest mistake IF you didn't hose up the underneath and the whole body of the vehicle, after wading thru the waves and sands, as rust will start to creep in. I'm getting the very same vehicle, today , 8th Jun, 2021. Nice video.

Я бы рекомендовал если финансы позволяют взять дизельную 2.2, они вроде как с 2012 года пошли, там хорошая простая коробка и она довольна приемистая около 360 nm и экономичная. Если нет тогда тут выбор небольшой, как у меня 2.4 бензин на вариаторе. Тут многие могут вас запугать вариатором и т.д но поверьте я свою гонял и по болотам и по грязям и в песках в 37° жару с полным обмундированием и 4 людьми и все в порядке ни муфта не грелась не вариатор в защиту не уходил. На трассе мощности хоть отбавляй да и по городу она впереди потока если надо, вариатор очень отзывчивый и довольно четкий по ускорениям если нужно.
