By the sounds of it you must usually paint with gouache because it's quite normal for paint colours to vary in opacity. I'm not a fan of shiny paint either but I use acrylic gouache. So many bad memories of smudging, smeary poster paints from school. I always use acrylic now because it dries waterproof and tough!

Just wondering how long it takes for them to dry? I have extremely cheap acrylic paints and they dry after just a few minutes on my palette and it annoys me :(

Are these matte are glossy?

Would love to know if you had to seal it and how it has held up if you didn’t. I used these markers on a similar material on a notebook. I see on their website it says you don’t have to seal it but I see some people do. Would like to not have to seal it and hoping it doesn’t crack over time.

For what you are doing, you would be better off using gouache paint. Gouache is designed to be opaque.
