You just said " solvent " . It would be more helpful iof you actually said whist you were using or at a minimum a list of ingredients . " Solvent " could be any number of different solutions. Pne of your watchers could use a " solvent " that actually melts the latex, so yeah. they to be more precise so someone doesn't potentially ruin what they're working on. ;)

There is a list of supplies, including the solvent I use, in the description. A lot of the times these solvents are already included in latex repair kits and they are literally just labeled as ”solvent”. Most commonly used solvent is n-heptane but depending on the area you live in you might have to find other alternatives. However, in a lot of cases you don’t even need to use any kind of solvent to prep the latex, especially if you are using a proper solvent-based glue.

The skull I found was pretty white it was out in the sun probably for a long while so I thought it wouldn't stink but yeah and since it's my first I just cleaned up with an old brush and a bathroom cleaner of some kind I never knew it was such a process to get a clean skull like that. Thank you so much for warning about boiling it in a different pot cuz I was considering it since my mom is used to boil some cow bones with meat on them to make soup and stuff, the bones that came out would look like small vases and would never smell, could be cuz they aren't skull bones but I was tempted. Mine is definitely not a cow I'll be refraining.

Hiii :) I just have one technical question. The blue tape you use before putting thinner and glue right? So that the ends don’t roll up? Which tape are you using?

you might find it easier if you could find one of those shop mannequins with a shaped leg if you get my drift so that you could actually tape the final seam over the leg shape itself, sometimes I've used the actual roll that the latex comes on but that's more difficult because the roll is straight whereas you want that curve as you have pointed out on the globe but for the curve on the toes you're probably looking more at a golf ball size to get the curve you want and I always put clean piece of paper underneath the final seam and that final seam is always a difficult seam to do no matter what garment it is. I use Scotch tape myself and also the thinner latex I have found with stockings and catsuits it's just as good to do a straight line with a slight curve maybe with a vary form curve but latex with a thinner latex is so adaptable putting a curved seam in is neither here nor there imho but after 20 years of designer latex clothing usually using 0.40 and 0.50mm from radical rubber and especially 4d I still dread the gluing part but I have the patience of job fortunately and you certainly need that for the gluing. If I think of anything else I'll throw it your way and I have subscribed as I believe there's always room to learn new things I don't believe in perfection but hey looks pretty cool

The Mask looks really amazing! Especially for Your first Mask like this - I really like the "floppiness" of the ears. Also your high, bright Ponytails looks really great on it and the collar piece of the mask makes a nice contrast to the open lower side of Your face. I'd love to know how many hours of work did You spend to make the mask in total?

Cool! Wondering what the SIMPLEST male outer wear garment for a beginner to cut their teeth on would be. 🤔 Sleeveless top?.. Do the sleeves add that much complication?
@lacrymastory
@lacrymastory 2 ай бұрын
Sleeves can be tricky to draft so a sleeveless top sounds like a great idea! Technically you would have to just glue the shoulder seams and the side seams. Make the neck and arm holes a bit tighter than you think they should be so you can widen them afterwards if necessary. Good luck!

Always love when you upload. Your voice is very soothing. You could be describing the end of the world and I would say thank you, lol. I have a tip when washing catsuits... wear them as you get into the shower and keep a coat hanger handy for letting it drip dry in there when you are done. You can wash yourself and the catsuit inside and out in one go. Just wash with it on, then peel it off so it's inside out and rub soapy water into the inside and rinse off. Then finish washing yourself.

Stupid question: isn't it easier to cut out the trim and the pattern edge where you need the trim wider than it's needed, then glue them together and cut the slack with a rotary off both at the same time to get a clean edge?
@lacrymastory
@lacrymastory 3 ай бұрын
That’s one way to do it! I prefer working with precut trim as it is more economical and doesn’t disrupt my workflow.
