your playing is great ... for me too much talking through this , i just want to hear the notes and remember them , when you talk it breaks the concentration .. i dont think blackmoore cared if his notes were dorian or anything else , he just made it sound nice ... you have the ability to play thedse solos and songs extreemly well , but for me i love lessons with minimal talking , let your fingers ta;lk brother .. keep up the good work though ...

I play this so differently yet it sounds the same. I begin with an open D Major shape at F and use my thumb for the bass at F on the low E string! I learned it totally by ear.

fun song to play trick is the spacing letting notes breath , one those songs you wish you had a Marshall amp not give a you know what , but I just have my Boss Katana Mini on the Brown sound with my 3 P90 stock strat , I roll down the tone , I get close to the tone brilliant instructions very clear

Glad to help you discover a new piece of music! Tony Iommi always like to add acoustic music to Sabbath albums to break up the heaviness of their music.

Great advice Anthony. I recommend a Boss RC-500 looper. It has a built in customizable drum kit.

To maybe give some feedback, you go from a pentatonic shape to a diatonic shape. Maybe it would be good to see the pentatonic shape beside it as well.

Thanks, it’s the best transcription of the live version on the net. I was looking for the G shape chord and I had it wrong when I played it, but your G sus 4 is spot on and sounds like what Thom played. I am going to see him play in October in Melbourne and I hope he plays this song. Thanks for sharing !!

Thanks and greetings. Saw a screenshot of one of the pages from Book 2 on Amazon India (which is where I am) and it had a page on the Major Scale, making me wonder if Book 1 would be too basic for someone who does play a bit (albeit without direction). Is that the case? I am looking for a complete step by step book at the end of which (hopefully) most of my knowledge gaps would be plugged. This does seem good for that.

If only Clapton had played anything approaching this studio version at any time - once - live. I realize there are limitations within the power-trio Cream era, but there certainly weren't any limitations in the many iterations of personnel on stage over the years.

1:05 For years I always heard this riff as starting on the downbeat (on one) and then it felt to me that it twisted round onto the off-beat (the "and" of one) once the drums entered .... and here again, even though I can read music and play the riff _AND_ have known for many, many years that the riff comes in on the "and" of beat one .. because you didn't use a count-in/tap your foot it _Still_ sounds like it starts on one! ha ha! I see a lot of this by youtube guitarists (especially when showing isolated licks and riffs) they don't give a count, so everything sounds like it starts on one! ... it can be very frustrating when they don't show the written music!
