Fact 1: The tongues of Acts 2 is not the same as the tongues of 1Cor 14. Things that are different are not the same. Fact 2: Paul had reasons for setting forth specific rules for tongues in 1 Cor 14. It is so that someone could see what was happening and JUDGE whether the spirit was following his own rules. Fact 3: I have seen a lot of "tongues" and "manifestations" in churches, but I have also see a lot of violated rules. Obviously then, the "power" behind it is NOT the Holy Ghost. Conclusion: Of course it's real. It is just as real as miracles found in Hinduism and pagan religions, including the religions that were found in Corinth in Paul's day (Google Pythia; Acts 16:16; 1 Cor 14). But reality means nothing. The real test is whether God is behind it. When it doesn't follow the rules, God is not it.
