Love your JD content but those TX are nice sleds too. Had a TX Starfire and a TX-L back in the day and they were both great runners.

I have one of these… not quite as nice as this, but getting there. It’s my weekend toy. Love it! I have the higher windshield… I prefer the protection it provides over the shorter one.

My father worked for Kohler engines R/D department and .we had two prototype 1975 AMF Harley Davidson 440 aluminum tub sleds in 1973 /1974 for about 30 days . One was a standard sled as you would buy off the showroom floor .The other had a 440 Kohler engine that would later come in a 75 Mercury Trail Twister . Kohler and AMF were considering doing some sort of deal together and around 12 of them had been put together and test .Obviously the deal never materialized but the Kohler /Harleys were a HUGE improvement

You wouldn't have the paint code for a 76 440 cyclone. Or know how to get it.

Brings back memories of my brothers 440 cyclone he had when I was a kid. That sled had dual tuned expansion chambers with no muffler. It was jd factory racing pipes. Love these sleds

I bought a 79 Trailfire brand new. Great sled but under powered. My 77 AC Cheetah would smoke it in a race.

She’s a beauty! I had a 1981 I bought new. It had over 16,000 miles on the clock when I sold it in 1989. I rebuilt the engine a couple times during that time but I sure had a ton of fun with it. The thing loved winding trails and I had no troubles outrunning my buddies el Tigre 6000 and blizzard 9500 on any trail that had a few curves to contend with. Congratulations on your work!
