Great video, I bough mine in November 2021, evidently it had little maintenance done, I've been doing the service myself, only thing I haven't changed is this fluid, I had to change the differential, (had my mechanic do this one, since I don't have the room and back there I did not have the skills), did not ask if he changed said differential fluid. That's a great dog assistance by the way. Great job!

Is there any reason to get 4 6-ton ones when I already have a set of 3-ton ones?

Depends on what you’re working on. The 6 tons are taller which work much better with trucks and suvs.

It came with some gear oil I purchased a while back. It does not come with the Honda fluid but you may be able to find something similar at your local auto parts store.

To answer about the pattern, it wasn't great but not terrible. It should be higher up on the drive (convex) side. Ecgs and Timmy the tool man have s 98 min video on it. They set the Pinon and carrier using measurements without the seals or sleeve installed, verify good settings, then add those things in end retighten to the measurements that produced a good pattern

If you don't know what the torque specs are then why are you filming it?
@kauffmansgarageАй бұрын
Because I’m not concerned with it. You can look them up if they are important to you. Been doing this stuff all my life and while torque specs are important, they are irrelevant in some situations when you are experienced.

To dispel any further confusion, use the labels of drivers front, passenger front.....NOT left and right because that's completely dependent on which way the direction the is standing. After ALL THAT, you never said whether or not you fixed the soft pedal....wtf???
@kauffmansgarageАй бұрын
Left or right is as if you’re sitting in the drivers seat. Standard reference in the automotive world but I see your point. Yes, this fixed the soft pedal.
@1vmxracerАй бұрын
@@kauffmansgarage Yes, I understand standards, I spent 10 years in the industry as a service writer/ service manager, but there are many, many people out here that have zero experience in the industry and have no idea what that standard is....EVERYONE know drivers' side, passenger side. Glad it fixed your issue.

I have a 1998 Honda CRV. I'm starting to hear some "creaking" from the back of the car when I first start the car up and start moving. Just for the first 20 ft or so and then I don't hear it. I wonder if it's the rear differential fluid. I called a standard oil change place to ask if they would drain and fill it for me if I got the rear diff oil and they said they charge $150 for changing it. Really? After watching the video, seemed like the easiest thing in the world to do.
@kauffmansgarage3 ай бұрын
If it happens when turning, the fluid most likely needs changed. If you don’t know the service history, it needs to be done anyway. This is an easy service if you have access to tools or someone that can lend a hand.
