What a great story, maybe Monson will be another Steve Fisher at University of Michigan. Was that 1989?

I love Ganot and I respect what the current roster has done but moving forward they need to do an overhaul and a new philosophy because what they have been doing isn't getting the job done. 20+ win seasons are nice but in the end, the postseason is what counts. Moving forward, I hope that they get into a more up temple offense, with players that can handle such an offense.

This whole notion of being a "championship team" just needs to stop. The conference championships mean 0 now with the new NIT rules. If you are not winning your conference tournament in modern day college basketball you are not a championship team. This needs to be printed and hung somewhere in the UCI locker room to drive the point home. This has been what the 4th or 5th time of a choke in these important games. I dont want to hear anything about championship and UCI in the same sentence...

Upset a number 7 seed Long Beach St? Come on, don't soft pad the interview. Ask the tough questions. Cal Poly is still the bottom feeder under Smith for 5 years, and for another 6 years under Joe Collero. Time for some changes, and it starts at the top

Academics I guess. It can't be for opportunity because he's the main libero. He's already on his 6th year in college. You have to remember that he entered college in Hawaii in 2018.

As a Hawaii fan I wish Coach Walters and her team all the best next year. They do return a bunch of players, and hopefully everybody will be healthy. I know a lot of players are playing with nagging injuries at this point in the season. Nice to see the close relationships between Coach and Players.

Although I’m a Hawaii fan, I felt sorry for the libero who struggled with serve receive in Hawaii n last night. Coach put her near the base line n had two or three other players in front of her to kind of protect her from making errors. I hope she regains her confidence n comes back stronger next year if she has eligibility. I believe that she did her job n struggled with some serves. Whenever Natalie Glen came to the front row, it made nervous because she has the talent to take over the game with her serving n hitting. Playing 11 sets in three days may have contributed to the lopsided scores in sets two n three.

Lang served really good this tournament, which is a surprise since she normally doesn’t and usually has such a hard time connecting with IGD, setting her low far too often that she’s forced to ugly-tip it over. But her sets allowed IGD to slam it every time. Wagoner has also been doing great these last few games. She’s actually swinging at the ball instead of always tipping it way too high for the opponents to easily pick it up. Both teams played complete opposite compared to their first game. Hopefully Hawaii can connect this well at nationals and get past the 2nd round.

Wow both teams played so differently compared to their first meeting. LB crushed Hawaii in a sweep, now Hawaii did the same to LB. I fully expected LB or UCSB to win the tournament and go to nationals over Hawaii because of how much better they were against Hawaii. Hawaii truly surprised me with how well they connected. They didn’t connect this well throughout the season.

It would be nice to see three teams from the Big West get in. Long Beach State still has a chance, especially with that win early on against Texas. But will it be enough? We'll see when the NCAA Selection show gets underway on Sunday.
