hey! I'm wondering if you can help me solve this mystery. at 12:20 there is a nut with a spiked washer which has a wire connected to it just below the sti strut bar. do you know what that is and what it's connected to? i have that same nut but connected on the opposite side but completely frayed and unconnected to anything else on my car and i can't seem to find record of it anywhere. thanks!

Thanks for the video. Just subscribed. Same issue on my 99 forester. Cylinder 4 no compression. Still runs great down the interstate. Lots of lost power starting from stop though. Deciding what to do next... Would like to upgrade power from stock ej25. Do you know of any engine swap upgrades. Probably buy a service manual from your website too. Thanks again.

Would this be the same process for a 2002 Legacy wagon? The setup looks similar enough but other videos had mentioned automatic transmission hoses. Im pretty sure my head gaskets are on their way out being as the car has 177k miles.

When you bought your jdm ej207 v7 engine it had a Sti 6 speed tranny with it. Why did you stick with the wrx 5 speed? V7 is also 5x100.

On the right-hand side of the engine, does it matter if the actual gear itself on opposite sides or are they different cz they both look the same so

what a job MOST def not a sti. Down pipe and drive shaft dropped to get to the bolts care full they dont send the wrong part if you have a 6 speed the angle of the connector pin to the shifter shaft is different

Several poor techniques here. First, you should set TDC mechanically, not using pressure rise as a surrogate. Not hard to be several degrees off that way. Consistency matters in tests like this. Second, NEVER use a tool at the extremes of its range. You should not be using 100 psi for testing. Aviation uses 80 psi for good reason. It is assured to be well below the pressure provided by most compressors and it is well below the maximum rated pressure of the gauge and more likely to be in the linear and more accurate range of the gage. This video should be retitled to say “How NOT to perform a cylinder leak down test.”

I OWN SUBARU'S FROM EVERY GENERATION MINUS THE VA AND HONESTLY THE VB IS BY FAR THE MOST SLEPT ON AND BEST WRX THEYVE MADE. PREFERRING OLDER CARS IS BECAUSE OF THEIR NOVELTY AND ANALGOUS CHARACTERISTICS OBVIOUSLY EACH GEN GETS BETTER/WORSE..IVE LOVED EJ'S SINCE 2002 BUT THIS NEW FA24 IS A RIOT AND THE CHASSIS AND OEM TUNING IS SUPRISINGLY WELL ROUNDED..EVEN THE ENGINE BASE MAPS LOOK SMOOTH AMD CONSISTENT WHICH TOOK SOME REAL WORK AND THE RIGHT PARTS WITH EJ'S TO GET CLOSE. BUT FOR NOW EJS HAVE HIGHER POWER POTENTIAL.

I just use a fuel pump in a closed loop system. 1 gallon fuel can with the return and suction going into it and a walbro 255 extra pump I had and regulate it to 60psi since that’s what I run for fuel pressure. Then I flow match all used injectors and make matching sets.
