Wow thanks for the helpful video! Personally I use HomeFi and its worked great for me! I use their portable hotspot device which connects me to the nearest strongest signal and I've had no issues using it on the road.

Why don’t you take the sim out of the device and put another t mobile sim in it. Like switch it with your t mobile phone sim and you’ll have internet everywhere. Or just get another t mobile plan and put the sim inside the device. Or look into one of those t mobile MVNOs like us mobile pay about $40 everything unlimited and put that sim in the hotspot device?

I was about to buy the plan and now I’m not 🤣 they lost a customer before they got me.

I love your content and your RV adventures! I noticed you’re using ConnecTen Internet. It seems like a great service, especially for RV users. Have you thought about getting a cell booster for your RV as well? A cell booster can amplify the existing cell signal, which can be really helpful for your phones, especially if you already have a cell plan. This way, you can use your phones for internet access. If you need dedicated internet, you could get a normal hotspot. With the cell booster, the hotspot should work even better, and this setup might save you some money in the long run. Just my two cents! Keep up the great work and safe travels!

Any update on Tmoble?

Will totally switch if that happens, Tmobile stole a trade in phone from me, gave me a trade in offer that they didn't respect, only reason I stayed was cut of the internet but if they do that I'll totally switch.

Hi! Per Connecten website they have an option of a modem/router for outdoor mounting very ideal for van life. Why you did not considered that one?

T-Mobile is missing a huge opportunity by blocking the RV community mobile use of the home modem/router at the $50 rate. Guaranteed they would capture a huge number of new customers if they’d embrace the market segment rather than shunning it.

I just tried last week to get T-Mobile and was turned away because they are “cracking down “ on people traveling with it. I told the guy I can see 5 T-Mobile connections when looking for WiFi in the KOA right now. They are going to have a lot of angry customers. It’s a shame.

I feel like that privacy fence is a little on the pointless side. You totally should have bought the bear gloves! The doggie spa reminds me of the hotel we stayed at in Utah that had the doggie spa. We totally took advantage of it and gave Darbi a bath. Can you imagine the mess from that food machine if there was a long power outage? eeeeew! 😆 Oh I NEED to see you crawl into that tiny cabin LOL. Didn't realize you guys were headed to Washington. That's the only state in the west we haven't visited 😕 We're thinking of making that part of a trip next year. Haha the stuffed lizards are calling to her. That's hilarious. Looks like a great place to stop.

I wonder if Connect 10 works like a Cradleoint, essentially, each time you switch SIMs, the device has to reboot the modem (not the entire router) because each carrier has a different software that has to run for each carrier. Using a Cradleoint, you have full control, you can swap the carrier yourself by just logging into via Ethernet cable or WIFI. They will actually fail over to another SIM if the primary is not working at all. They also have models where you have 2 modems and can have 2 SIMs active simultaneously. You can then get an inexpensive router from TP link that will let you load balance and use SIMs from 2 carriers. I haven't looked at the latest Cradleoints, they may even have SDWan or load balancing built in by now. We have deployed hundreds of them at the corp I'm with. E3000 and E300 are the one's we are using.

Oh, another thing to consider is having and external Omni cellular antenna mounted to your 5th wheel and the connects brought inaide to your router.
@modsquad8u6 күн бұрын
Just FYI phones almost always work the best unless you are connecting to external antennas. Phone almost always get the bleeding edge technology like WIFI and 5G.
@modsquad8u6 күн бұрын
You can get something like a Cradleoint 5G router and just activate whichever SIM works best in your area. There are other similar devices. I use Google Fi that piggy backs on TMobile.

They shouldn't be boiling frogs in the first place. People's data habits are probably generally same or similar if at home or traveling on average. Why should it matter WHERE you are using the data if you are paying for unlimited data? You nailed it, its greed. Some jerk CFO is getting greedy. Service and customers be damned, profit is their only focus.

You can also just buy a ZTE 5G modem for $125 bucks one time cost. Then get an unlimited plan from Mint Mobile. I think its $30.00 a month with a 3 month commitment ($90.00). Works flawlessly.

I'm a trucker. I use Verizon for my phone service. I heard from another trucker about an app that fixes the issue of hotspots and the issues with limit and speed caps. PDANet. It allows you to use the full speed of your unlimited cell service and share it with your PC. You can use the free version or you can pay like 15 bucks one time and fully unlock it for life. On a good connection I can get 100 plus mbps, and I average around 40 to 50 mbps. Absolutely free. And it's a shame cause if one of these companies offered a better connection at a decent price for truckers or Rv people....I would easily pay it. But they always just try to get you to use the low speed hotspots with limits to drain more money out of you. So to heck with them.

How about taking your t mobile SIM card out of the trackable device and and into an unlocked 3rd party 5 g cellular router widely available on Amazon. They look like the connection router, you buy the device and pop in sim card and away you go.

It’s data prioritization. When you bring it to different markets, it uses much higher capacity in markets that aren’t equipped to handle as much capacity. This is why a lot of addresses aren’t included. A good work around I found is getting an iPad with internet plan, and T-Mobile advertised unlimited WiFi 5g speed hot spot for the tablet plan I got.

Been racking my brain to remember if we went to Custer. And I finally remembered that we did. But we only drove through. I think it was as we were heading back home. But I can't remember that for sure. We did Airbnb when we was in the black hills. It's nice that you found a good campground for a central location. That's a good idea to keep the ada showers locked. I've seen very able bodied people use those. Probably because they have more space in them. We love a nice centralized location when we camp. We try to always do that when we have a lot of things we want to see in different directions. Great campground review.

We're gonna have to hang out with you guys more so we can catch up. We're only at two states lol. We did do Badlands and Wall Drug. Neither ended up on our fave list, but is something everyone should do if they have time and are in the area. Wall drug doesn't appear nearly as busy as when we was there. It was almost shoulder to shoulder. We was there somewhere around first of Sept a couple years ago. We didn't much enjoy the stop lol. But if I hadn't done it, I would have always felt I missed out. So glad we did it. Thanks for sharing your stop with us.

Ah we've been to this chapel. It really has lovely architecture. Of course, I always like checking out churches. The older the better and the more unique the better for me. We didn't do storybook island. We thought it might look weird for us to be in there with no kids lol. I was wondering if you guys did the dinosaurs. We did do those. Didn't care if I had kids with me or not lol. Yup those stairs were a lot. I'm glad to see they are doing some upkeep. The views from the dinosaurs is very amazing.

Does the “autoswitch” problem perhaps have to do with reassigning the eSIM for each of the carriers? Maybe a dumb question, I’m not a tech guy.
