Is sedghammer safe for pets and other planted plants?? This is taking over the garden. It’s almost as high as I am because I just said forget it. I pulled it out twice and YES, it does grow back faster and thicker. Where does it come from?? How did it get there??

How did it get here!? LMBO,,,, The billion-dollar chemical companies drop the seeds from airplanes!! (Same kinda deal as COVID!) Then, they can make TRILLIONS selling the 'FIX'! ;>) HOW ABOUT LAMBs/ Mares TAIL? That stuff just laughs at Roundup! Most invasive, foreign/ immigrant 'WEEDS' were brought into this country for highway slope protection. (Remember back, when the farmers complained about Sweet Pea vines getting into their fields?) (The chemical companies talked them into Nut Grass! lol,,, )

Grubs destroyed a large part of my yard last year. This, purslane, and a host of other nox garbage is holding the ground in place while I do some construction. Once I'm done with equipment traffic I'm going postal on all that! Thanks for the tutorial... I can't wait...

What is a air gap??? Do all the newer ones need this?? I had a GE dishwasher for years and never had to have a air gap. My new one has not worked from day one!!! Why do I have to change my plumbing just for a new dishwasher???

I pulled the nutsedge in my garden a couple of years ago. I pulled it twice and I thought I'd never get rid of it. I've used Sedge Ender and Empero and both work well but the Empero is much cheaper so that's what I use now. Spectracide also makes a weed killer with sufentrazone but it is a little too weak.

I’ve had ppl stop and ask what I do to keep the grass so nice and lush? I mow every 7 - 10 days, never fertilize, and never use weed killer because all I have is what Mother Nature provides like nutsedge. I love that I’m not putting forever chemicals on my soil that leaches down to our well and ground water. Plus I save a ton of money.

The Ortho product is also available in a ready to use spray bottle. I buy several of those and dump them into a pump sprayer. In 20 years I haven’t had any damaged grass and it works fast. The bigger challenge for me is timing the application with mowing, timed watering, and rain. Remember, these products all depend on absorption through the leaves, so if you apply right after mowing they might be ineffective.

I find that if you just have a few it’s better to just pull them up versus spraying chemicals. When it gets hot out and dry most all of the chemicals I’ve tried burned the grass and might even kill it. Seed won’t normally won’t take until the fall so you create a dead spot and even more weeds will come up.

@@dannylayton1106 sorry if it sounded mean. I just though people are dying of cancer all over the place now days because of the government's great way to protect us and then I see this guy just throwing all kinds of crap on his lawn. Probably doesn't have pets or kids or even a family. I guess grass is more important that all the rest. Perfect exaplem of when people have too much money to throw away as well. Could put that money into more useful things other than spraying more crap around his house.

The problem is nuts edge comes back every year so you have to spray it every single year. They need to come out with a pre-emergent or a post emergent that will kill it for good and not come back.

You can get the Ortho in a spray bottle (like Windex) for small spots. Much easier to target just the weed, and I haven't noticed any damage to surrounding turf. Obviously if you have a lot, one of these is better. But for subsequent years, or if you only have one or two small spots of it, just having it on hand is an amazing tool.

One thing that has worked for me, is not mowing as much in the hottest part of the season. The grass can get a little ragged looking, but it seems to get thicker and stronger, and the weeds can’t compete.

I find most fast-kill herbicides don't provide long-term control, or at least as long as you get with slow-kill products. Consumer broad-spectrum killers like Roundup, which contain glyphosate, don't seem to last nearly as long as commercial glyphosate concentrate, same as the consumer level broadleaf sprays don't seem to last as long as commercial products. I'd rather pay more and get longer control than to see immediate but short-term results.
