Based on that, we can say that Luffy is weaker-the question is by how much. You might already know this, but for me, it's still not entirely clear. So far, Luffy is still one of the top 10 strongest characters I've encountered in the series.

I wouldn't be so worried. Even though I love animals, if they choose to harm someone, they should expect the victims to fight back. The same principle applies to humans.

Absolutely, Ace is such an impressive character and definitely the ultimate older brother! I think the next episode (today) will reveal more about how much he cares for Luffy-he even carefully "investigates" or tests all the Straw Hats and Luffy’s behavior as a captain. As for his last name… to be honest, I’m not sure. Smoker uses that name when referring to Ace, which suggests it’s official since Smoker is a Marine. Ace might have changed his name to hide something. The easiest explanation would be that they (Luffy and Ace) have differences in their family background-maybe they have different mothers or fathers, or they were raised by different people, from whom they got their names. There are too many unknown factors to say anything for sure. The thing is, we only know about Usopp’s and Nami’s families, and in Nami’s case, it’s a stepmother. As for Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji, we don’t really know much. Even if their pasts were revealed, it seems like One Piece isn’t built around families. It’s an adventure anime, and showing all the families related to each character would be extremely difficult-it’s simply too much to cover.

I personally think that we'll only see more about the families of any Straw Hat crew members if that character achieves something of great value-like fame, power, wealth, a crown, strength, or a significant bounty. It would add depth to the story and make it even more interesting.

To be honest, I actually like everything except Wapol. For all he says, he has nothing to back up his words-no real intelligence or strength to support it, not even by instilling fear. This means I saw his claims as mere rambling. However, the cool moments were really impressive. In terms of character perception, I thought Sanji, Zoro, and Luffy were invincible against Mother Nature, but I was very wrong. The avalanche and extreme cold took Sanji out, and even though Luffy managed to get everyone to the doctor, he passed out at the end. Now I view the climate of each island more seriously, as it can damage even the strongest among the Straw Hat pirates! The climate is a far stronger opponent than Wapol!

@@GiraffeReactionsZone i will be adding "the climate did more damage than you" to my list of insults to throw at wapol. The reason Wapol doesn't have to be a big and strong villain is because everything you've seen so far is just build up for Alabasta. One piece does this a lot. A few arcs of exploring the world and new concepts while also slowly building up someone like Crocodile as a major threat to be defeated in the future. Other arcs might add crew members or are just really good for worldbuilding and they don't have immediate impact but only a few arcs later will the significance of such an arc become important. Also just to be sure: every island is it's own arc and a collection of arcs that are one big storyline is called a saga. East Blue is a Saga that contains episode one until the end of Logue Town and the Alabasta Saga runs from entering the Grand Line until the end of the Alabasta arc.

Ohhhh, I probably referred to everything as an arc-my bad! I’ll improve :) I see that the arc structure is quite complex as well.

I mainly mentioned it because you'll likely see people use those terms in comments and i thought i'd be nice to know how those terms work in one piece. But yeah every island is it's own arc. Some are 10 or 20 episodes and others are 300 episodes (that's Wano, the longest arc in one piece)

Kuro and Zoro have the same minimum strength, and while Kuro’s specialty is speed, he still lost to Luffy. Therefore, following the rules, I have to cap his strength at 600. Keep in mind that this doesn’t necessarily indicate the outcome of a fight. At this point, Kuro is very close to Zoro in strength, so it wouldn’t be a one-punch fight. There would be no clear winner based solely on these rankings, as many other factors come into play during a fight. I would consider giving Kuro a maximum strength of 800 (which would make him equal in strength to Zoro) if Luffy were injured or passed out after their fight, or if there were other indications of significant damage. In the case of Luffy’s fight with Lion Richie, since Luffy fought seriously, he couldn’t apply a 10-times stronger multiplier. However, this doesn’t mean he wouldn’t have won without fighting seriously; it's just not something we can determine because it didn’t happen. That’s why I don’t mention it; I’m focusing only on the evidence available. I do value your opinion, though, and it's possible he could be at 40; he just hasn’t shown that level yet.

If you want to know what movies to watch when then you can most likely find articles or forum posts about that. I will have a look for you later. Not all the one piece movies are good either but there certainly are a few really good ones but none of them happen at this point in the story. The ones you should absolutely watch when you get to them are: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Isles, One Piece Film Gold, One Piece Film Strongworld, One Piece Film Z, One Piece Film Stampede and One Piece Film Red. All of these are definitely worth watching and some of them are even really really good like Film Red and Baron Omatsuri

@@GiraffeReactionsZone as it turns out there are two movies that you could watch right now. One Piece The Movie (after episode 18) and One Piece: Clockwork Island Adventure (after episode 53). You could also watch One Piece episode 0 (yes one piece has an episode 0). There are a lot of one piece movies and most of them aren't really worth watching but there are a few that are very good. If you wanna watch a really good one i would recommend Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island (after episode 224). Its a very dark movie with an interesting art style and a compelling story. Other notable movies are One Piece: Strong World (after episode 381), One Piece: Z (after episode 578), One Piece: Gold (after episode 750), One Piece: Stampede (after episode 889) and One Piece: Red (after 1030). These are the most notable movies and I don't really recommend the other ones but if you want to watch them that is of course completely your choice. I do highly recommend watching episode 0 at some point because its good and it drops some lore.

@@GiraffeReactionsZone yes i do highly recommend the live action. It does change a few things because they had to do the entire east blue story in just 8 episodes of 1 hour each but overall it is a very good show that manages to capture the spirit of what one piece is perfectly. I've seen a lot of positive comments about it and i watched it myself as well. It does spoil one major reveal that you normally wouldnt really get until episode 310 or so but it's not that big of a deal. It reveals the identity of someone who is related to luffy. Its an important detail but it won't ruin the anime for you if you know it already. If you do decide to watch the live action now then you should keep in mind that we don't know about their connection in the anime until way later. It will be obvious who im talking about. Since you already watched all of east blue you could totally do the live action now because there will be no real spoilers for you. It does do some things differently than the anime so i tend to see the live action as its own thing and the anime as its own thing and i try not to compare them too much. The live action is just very fun and especially really fun for people who are new to one piece and have never really watched anime or who don't know if they want to try such a long show. Its also fun for people who watched it already because its still a fresh take and there are difference. One big one is that there is no Luffy vs Don Krieg. This explanation was a bit long but i hope it helps

Luffy’s feelings are evident-because they are his friends, and as captain, he can’t afford to lose anyone with such a small crew. Even Alvida from Episode 1 had a larger crew...
