She was on AMC and her character had the same breakdown as Laura!!!! Also she never had a breakdown on DOOL only on AMC and on GH when lulu was a baby and in 2002.

All of the different emotions, thoughts, are shown so well terror, realization, anger, and then mental break. Then all of the mental breaks, her realizing it will never be over with the Cassadines, then her never wanting to leave Nikolas, and then her thinking tony was keeping her prisoner on the island.

Knowing everything Laura went through with Luke and the Cassadine. From rape, to Luke’s adventures, to being on the run, to lulus illness, to Nikolas and being forced to leave them, her mothers “death”, to then Luckys “death”, to then reliving her rape with Elizabeth’s, to then finding out she killed a nurse, to then accidentally killing Rick. No wonder she broke. Even the strongest would have broken

I think she is a versatile actress and her range and skills aew genius.

Genie Francis came up with the idea that when Laura was being held hostage, that she had Nicholas during this time . That’s why when Tony was holding her , she kept repeating about not being a hostage again

Honestly, I had NO idea that Genie Francis was ever on All My Children. However I am so happy that she has returned to General Hospital. the show would not be the same without her and she is still beautiful.

I relate to these breakdowns and her shutting down loosing herself completely. It's hard seeing her do such a good job. I believe she's really gone through some hell off of the show.. We try to just put up ,shut up deal ,not cry , protect at all cost , take the brunt of others mistakes and forgiving to fast and to easy to maintain..

It’s a shame Ceara wasn’t a more interesting character. I know how excited Genie was to be on All My Children and I LOVE All My Children but I practically fall asleep when watching her scenes. Plus the two men they paired her with - AWFUL. So, it really was a bit of a hopeless situation. There was nothing to grasp onto and AMC is my favorite soap of all. I could watch her on DAYS more easily than on AMC, and I don’t watch DAYS at all. So as insulting as it initially was for her, going back to GH in ‘93 really was the right decision for all.

I love the color of the sets on daytime at this time. There was a lot of golds and pinks in a very regal, Dynasty, soap opera-ish fashion. You could tell at this time that women had a lot of influence in the interior decorating, and that we ENJOYED the glamour. I prefer this style. No grays and whites and cheap minimalism for me lol.

Genie is one hell of an actress. There's nothing that she couldn't do as far as acting. She'd be on top if she was in motion pictures. Her eyes display all types of emotions. Just love her,always have.

Sometimes GF reminds me of Sally Field.In her emotional scenes.Her voice even does. She should have been in movies like Steel magnolias. Her range is off the charts

When Genie Francis exited the show in 2002, they wrote her out in that she had a mental breakdown. In the years after they wrote it as it being caused not only by the trauma of what happened to Teresa Carter and Rick Webber, but that being with a man like Luke, living on the run contributed to her breakdown. Specifically in the intervening years they drew comparisons to Lulu, who had a lot less gentleness and more attitude than Laura. And her relationship with Johnny. But this video is just further proof to me that what contributed to her "breakdown" was not living a wonderful life with the man she loved, but that being kidnapped, coerced, raped, and forced to give up her child is what took a toll on her, as it would anyone. And don't even get me started on the revisionist history of Luke and Laura, and the character assassination of Luke! The writing really sucked c. 2002-2009.

Genie Francis gave an Emmy-winning performance in this scene. Yet, I don't know if she got one for this. I think her talents were grossly underrated. Perhaps being in Tony Geary's huge shadow took the focus away from her. I think TG is magnificent, but I also read that Genie left the show because basically, she would be nothing without him. I'd make a quick exit, too if I was told my character didn't matter

I believe this woman is not just a beautiful actress at the top of her game but a woman of great integrity, few could be emulated by young women today as she is. She is as good as it gets, anytime TV, not just daytime. GH was not a soap. In reality, it was a drama, comedy, adventure series. Thanks to Gloria Monty, there has never been another like it.
