The thing is people play standard vanguard ops to grind zavala or other quests, casual players didnt need it to feel like a boss battle going against normal enemies. I get 2 shot by standard enemies with my max resistance titan. Only the sweats asked for the difficulty to be raised but the sweats could always easily go play harder activities instead of complaining about the things that meant to be easier

FOMO design (fear of missing out) to me has become an actual deterrent for me. If a game has some limited time activity or purchase I immediately become disinterested. If the activity happens to sync up with when I want to play the game, so be it. But you can forget the extra purchase from me. So, episode/battle passes are like a reverse magnet to me.

I forgot to mention how hilarious this is to me. $50 to buy the campaign expansion. Spend $20 to skip/complete the campaign on one of your characters... Spend money to play it and spend money to not play it... Brilliant. Just brilliant. Especially when players realize how bad/unrewarding the campaign is...

The final shape dlc. Pay $50 for the story expansion. It comes with one season/episode. Pay $50 more to include the 2 other episodes. The seasonal content generally seems to amount to doing one activity A LOT, to earn Xp for a battle pass like system. You can earn a bunch of the rewards for free (without buying the episode). Glad I only bought the story. I have WAY too many games to play this year. Plus, I'm already getting tired of Destiny 2 again after 2 weeks. Here's why. During the campaign you can choose normal difficulty or legendary difficulty. It mostly tends to be a fun challenge to play on legendary. But in many cases it's extremely not fun. Part of the unfun is when enemies spawn next to you and blow up, insta killing you, reverting you back to the checkpoint. IF and only IF this was a more predictable pattern would it shift from being "something I can't plan for or react to which pisses me off" to "an avoidable, challenging, fun problem to solve". Essentially, exploding shanks spawn next to me and give me maybe 1 second to jump away but in my tests have too large a radius and kill me anyhow. That's NOT FUN and it's not even difficult. IT's just bad and lazy game design. It's not a challenge to solve. It's simply a way to increase the number of times it takes me to beat it. This alone makes me not want to bother with the series ever again. It's fine to include those when the stakes are low. But when I will have to keep repeating a 10 to 20 minute section of the campaign because I essentially keep rolling three 6 sided dice without rolling a perfect 18, I'm uninstalling. The area in question is around the 3rd or 4th campaign mission I encountered a large room with 3 parts. The center has some braindead birds to fight, which gets tedious to clear again and again when you keep redoing the room. The checkpoint should have been AFTER killing those birds. They don't pose a challenge and merely serve to bore you. You go left and right to get information (reveal a symbol and match it later). Once you clear the enemies on one side, the game goes into overdrive and spawns things all over the center and the side of the map you're on. And it spawns laser trip mines. It gets super crowded and it's way over the top (I even switched from legendary to normal difficulty and it really doesn't feel much different). It's tolerable until the game spawns those exploding shanks RIGHT NEXT TO YOU. Never a good game design. There are thousands of ways to make more interesting enemies. Even exploding ones. For example, increase it's time to explode, decrease the damage it does, allow the player to melee or even shoot the damn thing to stop or lessen the explosion, make the explosion directional instead of in all directions, etc... So, if I managed to succeed on the first side and clear the claustrophobic number of enemies and then stop back down into the middle... BOOM, another exploding shank spawned next to me and ended that run. Next time I played it like a man who only had 60 seconds to live but only lost time while on the ground. This wasn't fun. It's now kind of funny and memorable but only as a testament to how badly designed the mission and campaign is. I did end up beating the mission on normal but yea... as you can tell it was not good. I fully regret giving Bungie any money for this expansion. I enjoy some of the activities in the game still so it might not uninstall today but it will not last long. Elden Ring's expansion comes out tomorrow and I'll be fully invested in that. Life's too short to spend playing a game I don't like anymore. I would take year 1 destiny 2 over this garbage any day.

Okay...so let's wrap it up in one bundle, I have no proof, but I've been playing this game for ten years, and that ending made me tear up, which is probably just cause I realized ten years were coming to close, but this dlc is up to par with taken king in every way, alot to explore, I feel more secrets and easter eggs should be present saying it's a celebration of the end of the light and dark saga, but you all need to remember they have budgets, they have quotas to fill, no matter how much you hate it, that's running a company, and that's the reality of triple a games nowadays, with everything that's happened, they nailed it, and I bet half of you didn't buy the dlc and just watched the cutscenes and that's not enough to get the full picture, gameplay wise, I haven't enjoyed this game in quite a few years and I'm a big hater of the bullshit they've pulled because it all feels avoidable, but what happens in the background is more complicated than you could ever imagine, it was better than mid, but you guys can never be satisfied, always need more, and that insatiablitly is impossible to fulfill, so cut them some slack and just enjoy it, try to look away from the rough edges and know they put their passion into it. All in all, this game has fucking sucked for many ah years and that's putting it lightly, so maybe I'm just happy that I'm finally getting something that has taste and yes we have been starved purposely, but remember, that's not the developers, that is the stockholders pulling the strings. The developers are passionate about what they make and are happy with what they have made, but not happy with seasonal content because they know it's just gonna get thrown away in a year, so yea, I'd want to just do the bare minimum if I was them, but obviously doesn't make an excuse for the ceo to just let it run. In the end...if you want to know how the devs have felt about there game for the past 10 years, think about the newest project they've been working on in the background...."project payback" let that roll around in that skull of yours, and this is some side info that I don't know how real it is, but the person that leaked it has been on point with most of his leaks, called prismatic, months before, called Cayde 6 coming back (no matter how much that was just fan service), and I know I'm bouncing around here but I'm tired of listening to people never being satisfied, they don't have budgets like they did before, 3 studios working on one game, and great ones at that, they are a single studio with external hires to help, Sony breathing down their neck, so please just try to understand, please. This is totally me just rant dumping but I enjoyed this just as much as I enjoyed taken king, and if you don't like it, I completely understand, but it was more than enough for alot of players, and wherever there's love, there will always be hate. But lastly....fuck Lightfall that was an obvious cash grab, maybe bungie just can't get comfortable, because when their on the seam of decimation, that's when they make their best content. I probably missed alot in this, which I did, but with all of the years I've wanted to bash my skull into my monitor because of just the obviously horrible decision making on their part, and I really can't forgive any of it, no matter how much I try to justify it in my own skull and this message is just really made for me, I hope you are listening, whoever you are, and understand that gaming only goes up from here. No matter how much this feels lime the end, they can start fresh, and as an independent (kinda) they have a chance to try and strike the same cords halo struck in us and our childhoods, nostalgia will always win, and in a couple years, you might be missing this too, just as you all so do with destiny 1. Yeah it’s really bad how Bungie can make such good content, but plague it with greed to the point I can’t even play it with selling my kidney. Then they just delete it from future updates! It made me quit way back in shaowkeep and now I just got final shape to finish the old journey, the final expansion for D2, and the amount of things restricted to other expansions is insane. Everything, even subclasses integral to the new campaign, are locked behind paywalls of other expansions which then have their own paywalls inside them to. I think destiny should operate like how Skyrim did. You have the base game, a full game of content, and then expansions for about $20 single pay price and eververse should just be cosmetics. I cannot comprehend how Bungie won’t make enough money with this and it will benefit traffic for the game as it will be far more approachable. They can even keep the battle passes, just a few seasons in the $20 expansion.

Unfortunately I don’t think so, in terms of quality yes but financially absolutely not. It all comes down to the triple Alers constantly paying for their slop and making excuses for the triple A corporations. It's actually refreshing to finally see someone having an opinion on TFS I agree with. Was it a good expansion? Yeah, not bad, better than most things Bungie puts out these days. Was it great? No. Was it a fitting end to 10 years saga? Hell no, it was embarrassing, come to think of it. Overused trope on top of another overused trope in the plot, raid that looks like previous two, same-y gameplay. Two good things that this expansion brought is Prismatic subclass (it's really fun to play) and 12-man mission. Maybe they'll do more of them in the future. I'm happy I'm finally done with Destiny, but I just wish that the expansion would've been fitting to such an event.

Playing this game is like jumping in to a tv series at the end of its life and only watching recaps from previous seasons. i bought the legacy collection thinking it would let me replay all the previous campaigns in full but you don't even get to play a quarter i guess i should have read more of the description but if i had known i would have never bought it or start playing the game at all. don't waste your time and money on destiny 2 just wait for destiny 3 of just don't play.

I think TFS is a lot better than previous expansions post forsaken. I enjoyed the campaign missions, especially the mechanics they added in but I found the overall story to be mediocre. The exotic mission is phenomenal and the best they have made. Prismatic is super fun but it is concerning with how powerful it is compared to normal subclasses. The 12 man mission was great. The raid was nice mainly the final 2 encounters. The issue I have with it is the first 3 encounters feel very similar to one another due to the re used mechanics. It’s still one of the better raids but I prefer something like last wish to it. However the episode content fully sucks. The overthrow events are boring public events & overall the stuff you do in the post campaign quests and open world are boring. Unlocking all the open world guns for example was a grind & a very uninteresting one. New strike is alright but they continue to neglect the core activities in this game. Overall this expansion was GOOD in my opinion and worth it unlike the last few we got. But it’s nowhere near as good as forsaken, that will most likely remain the best d2 expansion forever. I think something very similar to witch queen will happen, where the expansion was well received but everyone starts complaining about the state of the game in a few months because seasonal / episode model is terrible. There are many issues with this game long term and this expansion will only distract and not fix those.

For me it’s GTA V, it was the first story mode game I played and remember playing it on my brothers Xbox 360, begged my parents for so long to get it and I still have memories of playing it when I was young and missions from it.

I have not bought a single AAA game for well over a 7 years, last one was monster hunter world. which I find boring after a while, face it there really nothing in AAA space beside remake/unfinish/micro transaction/full of bugs. you can find some exception here and there, but generally speaking compare to game u play back in 2010s. present days AAA game has no souls, its bunch of political bullshit fuse with DEI. I have no interest wasting my money or time to get insulted by some fuck head, I actually play more of the game that were made between the years of 2010-2015. that was the last golden period of gaming.

They work then spend all this money to get that rush to feel happy in life..only for people to shit on them for that. So in this entire pathetic scenario, they verbally lash out at the ones criticizing their life style. One thing they have in common with other people that require interventions is denial and deflection. Its similar to me as a smoker spending at the very least $15 Dollars a week for a pack of cigarettes. These things dont really have any benefit other than the direct deterioration of your health. Not only that but you are contributing to the destruction of the environment too.
