Just curious, does LM have a preference to label 3 phase power as XYZ? I often see it labeled as ABC.

Hey Sam! We don’t have a preference. The labeling preference changes between industries. As an example: entertainment likes “X Y Z”, industrial likes “L1 L2 L3”. I haven’t seen an “A B C” personally. -Billy

I like this product but i find it to be overly expensive for what it is, its not like there is a built power conditioner or a simple surge protector. Then add shipping to the price and it becomes a bit hard to swallow. Hit me up with a coupan or discount of some sort.

Glad you mentioned the quality! These are indeed made by hand per order in the USA. They also have not 1, but 2 simple surge protectors. Which on the D1 come in the form of a custom 20amp hydraulic breaker and a 5 amp pop breaker over the courtesy outlet. Happy to offer a discount for any quantity over 10 units.

Lately in situations where I’ve got something like this that has this intermittent heavy draw I’ve been using some commercially available power banks with Lipoe4 batteries, where the inverter can supply 1800Watts. The power bank absorbs the initial shock, but then charges back to 100% over time. Unfortunately for this that would mean maybe some lack of grounding, unless you can find a unit that grounds. It is a very clean sign wave.

I have a small computer (Lenovo P3 Ultra) that I want to mount into a rack on a shelf. How do you guys recommend doing this? adhesive Velcro, Velcro straps, zip ties? I see you do some mounts where it's just freely sitting in a shelf with a sort of slot engraved around it. This rack would be something you'd pick up and carry, so I'd want to anchor it down. How'd you go about it?

We generally will build brackets routed from marine grade plastic if an existing mount doesn’t exist. If we have to mount something on the fly when we are integrating we use Velcro. Adhesive backed Velcro on the actual item and non adhesive backed Velcro as a hold down strap over the top and the sides. Heat is your worst enemy with adhesive backed Velcro. As soon as the item/ambient temp rises, the adhesive melts and looses all of its holding power. Truck rules apply: you have to be able to hold your load upside down and have it remain secure. This is especially true with racks and smaller fly rigs. Hope this helps!!

wow. i did not know you build these cases! Absolutely amazing. I believe I came across a fellow DIT that purchased one from you who had his DIT cart/rig just amazing...great work! I definitely want to set up an order in the next 2-3 months from now. Do you make anything out of t-slot aluminum ?

We haven’t had a request for a “film/movie/tv” style T slot cart yet, but we can do it. We use slotted aluminum a lot. Send Ed Davis an email with what you are looking for: [email protected]. It’s best to get the process started now and get a design started.
