No final original em 1984 a Chani ficava com Paul. Não entendi esse final.

A hostage to his destiny, he lost so much, had to sacrifice so much more. This scene captures the very tragedy of Paul's character, such a brilliant piece of cinema. ᑐᑌᑎᕮ

Why didn't he just tell the other houses that the emperor and his witch admitted that they conspired to kill his father??? That would have changed everything!!!
@azidashraf27553 күн бұрын
The great houses don’t mind Paul avenging Leto. They mind and disagree with Paul’s ascendancy. The emperor killing Leto still doesn’t legitimise Paul becoming the new emperor in the eyes of the great houses’ lords because every one of them also wants to become the emperor. The great houses refuse Paul’s ascendancy because they think their own lords deserve it more. Hence, Paul attacking them basically makes it fair that whoever wins the war wins the imperial throne.

1:30 This part, where the first voice is a woman, has a Middle Eastern feel. The film is rich with symbolism, which makes me wonder why, in these current times, the US government and European countries didn't ban it. Just saying😂

I will say that if Dune Messiah reveals that Paul intentionally drove Chani away because her birthing his children leads to her death, then that will make sense. Otherwise this is a strange way to end the story. Chani's weird tantrum doesn't really do anything. But if it was Paul who made sure she would leave, because he wanted her to be free and happy, not die in childbirth, that would at least make some sense.

So dissapointing. Paul hould make the Atreides's ring Red Hot. And ask the Emperor to kiss it. *Marking his lips permanently* . So he cant deny his surrender. He will remember his sin toward Atreides, everytime he looks at a mirror. And every breath he take for that moment, its a mercy from the house of Atreides

Great movie and cannot wait for the 3rd installment (even if it means not seeing Paul in such a positive light in the end). Was always curious about the tactics. He had nightmare/visions of the dead and did not want this outcome as it haunts him. Then why send his forces into space to attack the other houses? He must have seen the other possibilities. Why not stay on Arrakis. The other houses cannot attack as he will destroy the spice with nukes Everyone will eventually use up whatever supply of spice they have stored. The movies spent so much time telling us its value and that the universe cannot survive without it. Just wait and let the other houses come begging for peace. No war. No death. The Fremen will control their home world which is what they wanted. They never wanted to jump into spaceships to fight on other worlds. He has the home court advantage and time is his major asset (just wait them out and no death). Sending forces into space to attack is inefficient, but I guess that option moves the plot along.

I think people are drawn to the tragic inevitable outcome because like in the movie we feel the burden of great times upon us, and know the inevitable blood that must be paid. We feel the great powers of the world slipping closer and closer to war with each passing day. Politics is breaking down, the economies are decoupling and mobilizing. Soon all of humanities strength may be called once again to the field of battle. We are drawn to this scene because we see ourselves. All we wonder is who is going to be our messiah in these times. Who will take up the mantle of history, and lead us to paradise...

So by him saying take them to paradise is he talking about taking everyone back to his home planet? I just want to understand why he’s so upset about knowing he’s starting the holy war, does he know there’s no way for him to win in his visions?

I think Javier Bardem carried this scene. Timothy sounds tired and muted here. Constrained. I think it was a weak reading of the line. Zendaya's entire acting display is dispondant depression and annoyance. I think most people got tricked by a Hams Zimmer score. What it did capture was how abrupt Dune's ending is.
@DickyDer19 күн бұрын
Its because Timothy can foresee billions will die in the war and nearly all the fremen will die....paradise is after death.

Does he look at Gurney or Stilgar at 1:08 ? You can kinda see Stilgar do a little breath as if Paul looks at him. Then when the words are said by Gurney, he immediately says what is required to start it. It also explains the hard time he has with looking back. Because with that look he already starts the holy war, even if he has to say the words after again.
@LukeKetchum700310 күн бұрын
If Paul had just told the other great houses that the Emperor was responsible for the extermination of his family, they would have turned against him and gladly make Paul the new Emperor. And then there wouldn't be the need for a holy war.

Been a fan for a while of 80's movie, new movies and the original books. Really loved the changes they made with Chani, being kind of a moral compass and heart where Paul is rapidly losing his grounding and humanity, for the purposes of translation to cinema - perfect. Chefs kiss. That 'lead them to paradise' line was perfect, not only in its delivery. The war that comes next is something to behold and horrible. Part 3 is the only movie I really care about seeing in the next decade.
