You would need adjustable hangers they also make some nice polyurethane with multiple holes to help hang the exhaust for better adjustable fitment.

So i did call truhart when we bounced out of the car and they said to drive 500 miles to let it settle. In fairness, it got a little better. Secondly, the preload is not adjustable and the instructions said to keep it snug. I loosen it up and it's a lot better but it's a bouncier ride then I want

Looking for a equal 2 inch lift max, if I pair with the emu springs would I need to buy spacers also? Or does the springs bring it up to 2 inch already just by itself
@crv_tom
@crv_tom 27 күн бұрын
With the Old Man Emu springs, you're really only going to achieve a 1.5-inch lift, maybe a little bit higher depending on the strut you pick if you get lucky. You would be better off going with the HRG 2-in lift kit and get a new set of oem style springs and struts to get your even 2in of lift.

Hey Tom, been following for a while. I had the two top mounting posts for my rear diff break off. I was wondering if you knew about or had previously considered an alternative mounting method for the rear differential. Any suggestions are appreciated.
@crv_tom
@crv_tom 27 күн бұрын
That is a new one for me 😯 I have not heard of that as long as everything is mounted properly. I couldn't see why that could happen unless you had completely bad motor mounts and diff mount. I would need more information on if you're running everything stock or if you have it lifted and modified. What's the setup?
@sgtjoeham
@sgtjoeham 26 күн бұрын
Thanks for the reply, everything is bone stock. The cars got about a quarter mil on the odometer which should be barely broken in on these beasts. One day I was driving home from work and the drivers side rear axle spit out the side of the car leaving the splines in both the hub and the diff (u joint failure). I putzed it home and crawled under and discovered one of the top mounts had cracked at the base of the cast and the other had the bolt shear flush with the case. Truly a phenomenon considering it's a grade 8 bolt that sheared in cast aluminum. Ive been trying to track down a replacement diff lately but I would be interested in testing out an alternative mounting method. Adjacent to this topic, do you have any knowledge regarding the compatibility of rear differentials for Honda rt4wds? For example, would a differential from a 2nd Gen crv or a element be compatible with an rd1? Thank you in advance for any information.

You know I'm not 100% sure I've had so many people over the years that I've talked to tell me they never use the spacer sleeve. I think possibly maybe it's for a different strut fork if they fit another Honda possibly to fill in the space between the strut itself and the fork but I'm not 100% positive. It's been a few years since I've even had my hand on these struts.

@crv_tom
@crv_tom Ай бұрын
Thanks! That is something I need to do a video on but it's not too hard the biggest issue is when you get your wheel off you need to make sure you get the torque mount on that side off and out of your way. After that then you pretty much just need to loosen all of your adjuster bolts on each belt area that you were working on can you start with the power steering belt, then the alternator, and then last the AC.

@crv_tom
@crv_tom Ай бұрын
It's most likely going to be an issue with the track. You have to take the door panel off and take a look. Also, take a look at your two 10 mm bolts and make sure they're adjusted properly and tightened, which can cause issues. If it's not that, most likely, it's going to be a bad window motor or switch.

Hey Tom just subscribed. Out of a lot of creators you explain things very well and I have a question if you can help. I’m not super mechanical inclined, but my goal in the next year is to get a well maintained RD1 and learn to work on it. I will start with the valve lash adjustment, timing belt/water pump, and ball joints but eventually I would like to do the 1 inch/2 inch lift and subframe drop. I still have a lot to learn, but would there be any suspension components wise to replace during that lift operation? Or would OEM serve best. Ideally I’d love to replace all of the suspension eventually and make a super reliable daily. Just curious on the order of operations when going through these upgrades. Thank you!
@crv_tom
@crv_tom Ай бұрын
Thank you very much for that. I strive to really try to do my best to show people everything and not leave bits and pieces out or if I do go back and talk about them. I feel so many people leave details out, and it causes lots of frustration to the viewer. That being said going over your plan at what you have talked about it really seems you have done your research very well and I would tell you to stick to that plan first and stick with getting it all fully operational and to OEM into you decide exactly what size lift you want to do then either reach out to me or do some research on Facebook or other pages and you will see a lot of blueprints people have done for the amount of lift you would want to do.
