This is by far one of the best performances in the last century.

This is when the music was untainted and pure and they were peaking. No money just guts and music...Don't think Daron had a Baritone guitar to create his sound just yet...

I remember when I heard unmixed versions of the first record and it was like holy f*ck balls. They were a bit goofy but I loved it! Then the second record came out and it was another holy f*ck balls but another level of holy f*ck balls. I swear Toxicity has to be one of the top 5 metal albums ever recorded.

All the comments about what were the adults thinking. Who do you think most of the art, drama, music, social studies, etc teachers were in the 80s? Hippies from the 60s. I went to HS at this same time in a military town in Virginia and we had some crazy talent shows.

I find it really funny that Rick Rubin randomly stumbled upon 4 armenian late teens/young men going apeshit onstage while ranting about war and he said "yep, these guys will be the next big thing"

Did they regularly do shows at the Steamplant, or was this a one-off in a unique space? I can imagine Big Black being receptive to that sort of thinking.

For those in their late 20's/early 30's thinking they missed their chance to take their musicianship seriously, reminder that Serj was 29 at this show - and this is the show that got them signed. If you're good and you're real your age wont matter. Also, somebody needs to upscale this footage, possibly AI upscale it. Imagine if this show was higher fidelity. Imagine being able to see everyone's pit stains clearly! Adds a whole new dimension to the music.
