Honestly, I'm not sure. I have moved away from pomades like this in recent years because they contain petrolatum (a petroleum distillate), which is not great for the hair or scalp. I'm using stuff with better quality ingredients now like Johnny Slicks and some others (reviewed on this channel). I used Murrays for years though. The website lists aloe, lanolin and coconut oil. You could try emailing the manufacturer at [email protected]. Good luck.

German leather would DEF fit this watch. I wear it a lot for work in a hospital though, so leather wouldn't work well for me in THAT environment...too much hand-washing and germs. That's why I usually opt for NATOS or Watch Steward straps. But for home...definitely. Let me know if there's some German leather strap brands I should check out. Appreciate you checking in, man. I have used all 3, oil based, water based and formula 49. I thought the original oil based smelt bad and left my hair flat and greasy. The formula 49 original smells great in my opinion. Works pretty well in my hair but is quite tacky and works best if I leave alone after styling. The winner for me is the Water Based in the rugged scent. Excellent hold yet leaves my hair pliable. With both the water based and formula 49, I can simply wet my hair in the morning and get another day out of it with out adding more. I am in the process of growing my hair out and Johnny's was a life saver for getting through the awkward stage. So to sum up, the water based is my favorite, followed by formula 49, and the oil based just does not work in my hair. I also tried the omega scent in water based. Loved the smell, but unfortunately I am sensitive to strong scents and that one will give me a headache as I can smell it all day. My opinion, the water based really is the best, only thing that would make it better for me is if it had just a bit more of a matte finish. I think all have a purpose depending on the length of your hair as well.
@prodigaljess
@prodigaljess 4 ай бұрын
I think I would largely agree. If you are doing a real greaser look, the oil-based would be great, but for me, these days, I'm liking the water based and the Formula 49. It depends on the situation for me. If I'm throwing something in dry hair, I'll go for the Formula 49. If I'm jumping out of a shower, I'll probably use the water-based. I really like the Alpha water based. It doesn't seem to be too strong of a scent. Never used the Omega. I agree: they seem to have something for everyone. Thanks for sharing your experience here and for supporting my channel. Please subscribe if you'd like to see more reviews. I'm a little behind on content but have a bunch of stuff in the pipeline.

Thinking about this 'drag' issue I guess an inner race that itself begins to spin about the axle (not the intended use: being metal on metal without an intervening ball bearing) would get hot and expand also melt out the lubricant. So the spacer allows all to be locked into position to prevent undesired inner race rotation.

@@lazvt8469 Definitely sounds like a bargain and I've heard nothing but good things about their quality. I hope you make some incredible music with it. I don't mind buying from Japan, Korea, Mexico, Vietnam or Indonesia, but I try to avoid buying anything from China as much as possible...primarily due to religious persecution of Christians, Muslims and the Falun Gong by their government, as well as, more recently, political and military aggression by them towards the United States. Nothing but love for the Chinese people, though. In fact, the Christian church is exploding there, with one of the fastest growing Christian populations in the world...and they have to practice on the DL there...meeting in underground churches and carefully witnessing by word of mouth. It's very socially dangerous to be a Christian there, but more and more are converting. Very inspiring. It's pretty rad that your son plays too. You guys can bond through music. Priceless. Stay solid, my friend.

@@lazvt8469 Hey, thanks for stopping by. I don't dispute the quality of Asian import guitars (which has improved significantly over the last several decades...Mexico has always been pretty good and I've owned/tried great stuff from Japan and Korea too). And I have no problem buying stuff made in other countries, generally, though I give first preference to USA made because it supports American jobs and the American economy. But I try not to buy from China as much as possible, not because I have any beef with the Chinese people...I don't...but because their government oppresses their own people with a surveillance state and because they persecute people of faith (particularly Christians, which I also am, but also Muslims and the Falun Gong). Their government has also engaged in spying, intellectual property theft, and currency/import manipulation to give themselves an unfair advantage over the United States and other countries. Finally, they have threatened Taiwan with military aggression. It feels irresponsible to buy from countries like China when they are being international bad actors...especially when there are other options available, which, in most cases, there are. Just my two cents on why I try not to buy Chinese stuff. Appreciate you stopping by.

Would you recommend buying the original one? Also how long does it last?
@prodigaljess
@prodigaljess 6 ай бұрын
Original and Rugged are my two favorite scents by them, especially in their oil-based pomades. Definitely recommend. Very pleasant, masculine scent. How long it lasts will depend on how much you use and how often. I don't know if it's because I''m using better quality pomades or because I don't do crazy-high pomps anymore, but I find I use a lot less than I used to use when I used old-school stuff like Murrays and Royal Crown. Plus, I have about 4 or 5 pomades I actively rotate through so it makes it even harder to gauge how long stuff is lasting. Grab some and try it. I know it's more expensive than other brands, but it's worth it. I usually keep some cheaper stuff (like Duke Cannon water-based) for days when I'm not getting all catted out and keep the more expensive ones (Like Johnny Slicks Black Label) for special occasions.

Big improvement IMO. It’s all about balance frequency wise, and now you have it. Also it’s warmer tone. PL also offers steel saddles along with the aluminum…..wonder how they compare? Also the metal chemistry is a factor between brands…..meaning not all brass saddle brands sound the same.
@prodigaljess
@prodigaljess 6 ай бұрын
I imagine the steel are brighter (maybe not as bright or present as titanium) and possibly have a sharper attack. 100% on metal chemistry/quality across brands. I had some Wilkinson brass that sounded nowhere near this good. If you stick with any of the better brands, you should be good. PLT is the most affordable, but I'm told Callahan, Rutters and Glendale all make excellent brass saddles too, I understand. Never tried the Gotoh brass...they might be decent too. Definitely. They are so fun. You can practice them moving or standing still. The trick is getting your feet in the right spots and keeping your upper body still (especially your head and your arms) and using your hips to balance. It's hard to explain. Andy Anderson swears you can "manual forever" and Dan Corrigan seems to prove this out, but you have to get that muscle memory/balance going. Dan has a video on manuals where he literally rides one out for blocks. It's insane. Don't remember if it was a regular manual or a nose manual. Sergio Santoro is really good at manuals too (and no complies...oh man, that cat has no complies that DO NOT COMPLY!)

Aww, thanks, Darcie. Yes, the Lord Jesus has done some considerable work in this sinner's heart since then. And I'm so grateful. In a sense we are all called to ministry through the Great Commission. Wherever we are and whatever we do, our workplace, our family and our friend groups are mission fields. There are people there who need to be ministered to...some of whom will never set foot in a church otherwise. We might be the only ones they might listen to about the Good News. Therefore, grow where you are planted and ask the Lord to make you fruitful. Seek to live like Christ, bring Him up in conversation regularly, be accountable and servant-hearted and share Him when the Holy Spirit leads you. He truly makes the willing heart fruitful. Can't say that about many casual/dress leather shoes/boots. I may have my cobbler remove the hooks and replace them with standard eyelets.

@@user-xp2vz6lv7g Wool compression socks? Those sound interesting. The compression socks I've used have been non-wool varieties...and they smell terrible after a day of wear. The compression doesn't hang around long either. Let me know if you find some and maybe I'll review them. Some wool socks breathe better than others. Depends on the thickness and the weave. I have found some thinner ones that are more comfortable for wear on hotter days or in hotter shoes (like a high-top). The ones I recently got from Sleet and Sole fall into this category. I did do a review on them on here. Wow. You prayed for me and then got the same cold? Talk about "bearing one another's burdens"! Glad you're feeling better. Numbers 6:24-26.

I might have to give it another try. I went down the Johnny Slicks rabbit hole and it's been hard to get out. I haven't used this one in some months. Have to pull it out again.

Cool hats. I have the Rambler, and the Shelby. Peaky comes next.

Nice. Yeah, this is the Peaky Blinders model. I could probably pull off the Shelby too. I was looking at the cotton Shelby b/c it's hot as blazes here in FL right now. But, surprisingly, the wool cap is not bad for casual daily wear here. I wouldn't wear it for a long walk in the sun or any kind of exertion, but it's fine for a trip to a restaurant or the store.

If you pull off the peaky, then the Shelby would work..., just a bit smaller. Actually, I have 3 Shelby's, the Rambler and now the Peaky. Very nice caps. May look at a Fiddler cap next. The Rambler is quilted (heavily) making an awesome winter cap for these parts (Kentucky). But the Shelby's and Peaky's aren't, so you can get some wear time even on the hot days. Thanks for the conversation.@@prodigaljess
