I think the solution to this is to buy only decants and samples and only get 1 or 2 full bottles a year of only the perfumes that you personally identify with.

70 bottles in less than a year. Im on a no buy. For every two full bottles I use up, I plan to buy a 50ml until I’m down to 24 bottles.

I did own a couple of jo Malone on the past and unfortunately they don’t last more than an hour, at least that’s my personal experience, the smell is a paradise tho but wish they could last at least 5 to 6 hours

A good idea is to exchange the ones you dont like with fam, friends, etc... I did that a couple of times and I could discover new scents without spending money. I ve sold some of them too, on facebook market place or fb groups. Well we have to be creative here cause is almost imposible to afford buying fragances, they are super overpriced and we dont have all of them in stores. 😢

Whats wild to me is, I have around 70 if I count bottles and travels (not samples) and I already found my few signature scents! WHY do I keep buying more? Lovely smell but dont waste your money if you want it to last 10 min i could not believe for the price

Yep I got sucked into this trap , it does become addictive. In the end you only end up chasing bottles spending to much AND not taking the time to enjoy your fragrance. I realised quite quickly and snapped out of it sold a lot on ( at a considerable loss ). Now I very rarely blind buy if ever and sample shopping is my first port of call before I commit to a full bottle. Saved a fortune as I've found of all the samples I've tried I've only moved on to a full bottle two or three times. Most important thing though is enjoy your fragrance not acquiring fragrance for the sake of it.

I am on a strict perfume no buy until i finish 5 bottles in my 10 bottle collection. Nowadays i have a no blind buy rule because i have regretted all blind buys. I want to cull them from 10 bottles to maximum 4. 2 for Autumn winter, 2 for spring summer. I miss how i could use my perfumes for years and really appreciate my fragrances instead of always looking for the "next hit"

I AGREE with you! I feel I dont drink at all, dont smoke or any drugs, I dont go to restaurants at all. I pay my all bills, ofcourse taxes, and household stuff, save almost 20-33% of my income monthly and have a strict shopping budget but within that budget I SPEND, and dont think twice and really enjoy. Shopping to me is a reward of the strict discipline, cooking all those meals at home, childcare when we dont call nanny ever, and work tirelessly to improve my home. So depends how we spend it :) I love my shopping time.

I love Dirty. it smells even better when you wear that during winter. I had this when I studied abroad, the minty smell in cold days are very calming. I haven't had it for many years bcos Lush wasn't available in my country. but a few years ago they open one store in my area and had to try Dirty again. omg the nostalgia I got 🥲 somehow it doesn't smell as nice in hot tropical country lol. it smells like laundry +mint candy 😂 but I really bought it bcos of nostalgia purpose. Lust also was my fave, it's really f**kable kinda perfume 🤪 I never like jasmine, but this one just perfect for me

First by a country mile - While I never used a fragrance until I was in my late 40s, I have always moisturised twice daily since I was a teenager in the 1980s. Every 10 years of consistent action knocks 2 years off my skin age. The only other thing I used was a scent free soap and limit intense sun exposure

For me, it's definitely a shopping addiction/filling a void/or control issue (a combination maybe). It's been books for the most part in the past, dolls/figures, perfume on and off. Perfume in particular is the most "seductive" of the purchasable addictions because it thrills the brain/senses on multiple levels. For me, the research part, looking into the notes, reading reviews, etc is a major part of the fun. Then ordering is another. Actually using the perfume (and it lasts so long as it obviously has multiple uses in one bottle), comparing it to other fragrances. Perfume/fragrance hits in a way that other shopping addictions so not. And there so many of them. Definitely gotta' be extra careful/set limits with yourself.

I also own PDM Safanad. Barely any longevity, but man I adore it. ❤ I also own Oriana. Lasts quite a while on me to be honest. I get more of the grapefruit and marshmallow. Athalia also has orange blossom in it and it’s gorgeous.
