I'm curious as to how you're going to sustainably replace the things you used
@MirA12334Ай бұрын
Usually use that for new sewing projects or give it someone in need, resell it for cheap or put it into a second hand store. There's so many options. My favourite is sewing new things out of it. A teddy bear from y little brother. Use it for the material or stuffing. Or giving it to people in need. Especially the nicer things I don't wanna destroy I give them to people in need because they deserve good things too and not just a shabby pair of pants that will break within a month. 😅
@PloenPatternsАй бұрын
I don’t understand what you’re asking. You mean how to replace the sheets…? I find sheets for example at a thrift shop or online. Often times they are too worn to be able to use as sheets (holes etc) but there are still parts that are in good condition and those are the parts I use for clothes. Hope that answers your question, otherwise let me know :)

@@PloenPatterns Thank you! My question is about the interpretation of garment models, and how much ease to put in a piece so that it has its style, for example, jogger pants have looser hips, and mom jeans have a high waist and also a looser hip, but how much more or less of ease? I don't know if I explained the better way. Thank you!
@PloenPatterns2 ай бұрын
@@karinalss do you mean when drafting a pattern? Or fitting a sewing pattern you bought from a pattern company? Either way it depends on the design. Joggers are often made out of a fabric with stretch and mom jeans can be made from a non stretch denim for example. I would guess the mom jeans had more ease than the joggers in this case. It also depends on the style of joggers- if they are close fitting or more lose. You would have to experiment if you are creating your own pattern and for a pattern you bought - check the intended ease by comparing body mmts to finished garment mmts! Hope that helps :)

Pattern Making and Grading in Illustrator is the wrong way to go!1 - way to long, not accurate, you do not have Seam Allowance Tools, Do not do!! Invest in an industry Pattern Making Software! otherwise you are wasting too much time!!

Hello. I'm Letícia, from Brazil, a fashion designer and pattern maker and I started recentilly to make and sell digital patterns. Thank you for sharing your process, it was really helpfull. I'm strugling to launch my firts collection, it takes so much time to make video tutorials and I noticed that you dont do it, only photo right? Can you tell how much time it takes to make a simple pattern considering the entire process? And how do you calculate the price of it? I'm strugling with that too, since I only make a one test and one piece for photos. How to spread the cost of making the patterns? Happy sewing for you too. And thank you again.
@PloenPatterns9 ай бұрын
Hi, congratulations on starting your business! For my patterns I make instructions with illustrations and I also do video tutorials for all my patterns. For some of them I also do a blog post with photos. I haven’t calculated how much time each pattern takes. It really depends. I just pick a price that seems reasonable, considering other patterns on the market and how complicated the design is. For my printed paper patterns I calculate the cost and make sure there’s enough margin for wholesale and then profit. Hope that helps!

I bought a Husqvarna 21E in March for $50 cos it was so pretty and had the cams and everything (Dutch manual, but I got the English one from the FB group so no biggie!). I finally got around yesterday to cleaning and examining it and checking the brushes etc… and everything was in perfect order, I was so excited… until I went to thread it and realised the thread guide was broken (a VERY common occurrence I now read, but arggghhh for me!) lol. Still a gorgeous machine tho!

Hey! The Bernina 1008 is the BEST machine around! 🤣 I’ve had mine for 20 years now - it’s never let me down, is consistent, gives a great professional finish too! I ponder selling it now and again, to get a more automatic modern version, but the number of peeps who say ‘I’ll buy it’ puts me off. Imagine if I could never get another one! 🤣🤣🤣 I do love your husqvana - I think it’s the older ones that I love most. 😎
