The game is still relatively easy, even on impossible mode not using dragons.I had trouble with 2 maps.Need adjustments but funny to play. Still, 1st KR is the hardest one.We need to try without any updates on tree

Not good enough as a barrack in terms of stalling power. Not good enough to be a ranged tower with low attack speed. AOE upgrade is nice tho

the Sting Missiles can only instakill enemies who have a max health under 900. This can get bypassed though if the original enemy dies, where it can retarget against ANY enemy that's close (even minibosses), but that's still a bit of a niche use case.

@@chainsawboy2388 I've tested it, on impossible the skill isnt able to instakill abominations, bladeclaws, or vile spawners when they get below 900 health. same for kosmyr's instakill

This is another case where the time it takes to use the ability is important because the bombardment takes as long as 2 regular shots, which should be considered when looking at the efficiency. In this case for the final tier based on your estimates, the efficiency goes from 6.92 to 5.4 which is still well above 4 and is therefore a good ability but isn't quite as impressive as you make it out to be.

Based on how I've used it, the tower actually seems really good, but it's severely hampered by it's low range. Normally this isn't that much of a problem, flying unit towers like this can be used with barracks to great effect, but both of the endgame factions of alliance feature quite a lot of highly dangerous unstallable flying enemies. I'm hoping we'll get the chance to use it in the future expansions though.

The Battle Brewmaster is an artillery tower that works to enhance one's ability to tarpit. It's not as powerful as other AOE towers but barracks placed near him will hold the line far better. That aura you were talking about is a debuff effect that the Battle Brewmaster causes which reduces enemy attack by 20%. Elixir of Might is just a little bonus to the tower to add some extra tar to your tarpit.

Therien’s Void Rift does appear to be incorrect - it deals the 2-5 per tic, not per second, which is significantly more. This brings it in line with all other damage-per-tic abilities, like Tri-Cannon’s lava, Nyru’s thorns, etc. They all work in the same way.

The drunk effect reduces the enemies melee damage, making the brewmasters a very good pairing with a barracks tower at a choke point.

@@dankl3ss194 Efficient at 3 enemies at the least. Gets even more efficient with every upgrade. Makes enemies deal 20% less damage to your infantry. At max level, has their own blocker and an explosive barrel that dots enemies. This tower is clearly balanced around augmenting barracks play and seems to be doing a good job at it. What’s your issue with it?

@@ThisIsntAKZfaqr Look up how much damage the other aoe towers and skill does. You must be mistaken it to have dot which it doesn't. And where do you even put this dirt cheap thing. Not gonna be efficient at bad spot and not worth losing good spot either so just use necro death rider or emissary heal

@@Superjombombothree cool. Honestly I struggle playing the last four levels, on mobile. It is in a way that I have never struggled before in Kingdom Rush. In the past there would be a few who got through, but now it’s like a swarm. I do find the progression of lvl difficulty to be off balance this time though, up till the last lvls it were so easy…

The high uptime of overheat (especially when fully upgraded) and the trigger animation significantly cut into the frequency of bombardment. Sometimes when overheat is fully upgraded, bombardment just won't occur at all. I'm not sure why in some cases bombardment can still occasionally trigger (as in this video at 9:15); it's probably got something to do with the relative timings/phases of the two abilities and the base attack. Upgrading both abilities is counterproductive and the base attack is weak so tricannon is quite bad.

I honestly think this tower is too expensive, but I must say it is rather fun to use. Besides! The tri cannon operators seem like such jolly fellows!

If you max out bombardment and dont upgrade the other side, bombardment goes off every 5 seconds or something like that. With the "improved formulas" upgrade, it gets pretty good. Imo. Btw im pretty sure that improved formulas doesn't affect flamespitter since it's not an explosion, correct me if Im wrong. (not that it matters if you find its still better). It does affect demon pit, tricannon, etc. So, if you're only using flamespitter as artillery, you are wasting an upgrade. Also, flamespitter is not always efficient. Sometimes, you think it's going to hit a bunch of guys in a line, and instead, it turns around and targets one guy further up the path. Tricannon would target the further up guy, as well as two others. Placement is also a lot more important for flamespitter, and not every map has a perfect spot for it. I know this will be an unpopular comment. Feel free to call me bad or whatever. It's just my opinion.

I hope they do balance updates again. The reason towers only have two abilities is they wanted to make each tower and ability special, but they still managed to make some of the abilities a nerf or otherwise near useless

You are absolutely right because you understand the mechanics of the tower and its abilities. Many don't catch it. Enjoy abusing :-] In addition to your information something can be tried for a spesific stage or wave: At a last waves (14-15), build a Tier4 Tricannon with only 3x Overheat ability (no Bombardment at all) to the begining (enemy spawnpoint) of the path in order to see how effective that burning True damage to Superarmored enemies while they were move entire path. It is about 1500 gold investment, after hitting couple times to main target(s) we sell the tower (90% efficiency with Upgrade means losing only 150 gold) than build a decent tower to backside.

This tower can be really op with blessing of vitality upgrade.What you need to do is use your reinforcements and heros to protect the big boss and heal it with blessing of vitality upgrade,since big boss is on a timer you can have infinity amount of them if you keep them alive,i had about 15 big bosses on 1 lane with only 1 tower,also call waves early so big boss has something to fight and dosent walk of the screen.

You just need a really specific spot where it prioritize hitting a lot of enemies and you are good. This tower needs more janky placement than most but man does it do work

Royal archers and paladins are by far the cheapest and best towers, even tho the numbers are not perfect, the dificulty I had using them and the others is crazy

because this tower attacks 100 times per minute the chances of overkilling an enemy are very small. This makes it very efficient. And the way it attacks, attacking 5 different enemies each time, it's should be thought of as an AoE mage tower especially when combined with exploding star ability. An interesting mage tower for sure, but I still place it below the necromancer and arborean emissary.

I'd say that's true! Regular attacks are better than I anticipated, but unfortunate we attack all units isntead of the weak unit :(. Good in big elven bundles, weaker in groups of other towers. Feels like kinda a lame strat tho?

@@Superjombombothree What about just placing one in a good choke point like you would use a regular artillery and use it to weaken groups of enemies and have other towers in that choke point do the more targeted damage? I like the idea of using a teleport upgrade in the chokepoint too because it means the enemies have to wade through the most deadly part of your defence twice.

Also if it’s a mage and a chokepoint necromancer is way better because it not only reinforce the choke point with skeleton it also clean up trash mob with the rider. Even the other two mages are better with one buffing the choke point and getting instakill and the other have an aoe skill and also instakill. I also feel like just outright using an artillery is better for cleaning than this thing.

I'd say at best the flamespitter averages only 2 enemies per attack. Chris estimates an average of 5.

I've found that it can be somewhat inefficient, personally. It often targets lone enemies when there is an entire line it could be targeting. It is definitely the most placement dependent tower in the game. It also doesn't benefit from the "improved formulas" upgrade. It's not the best tower in the game as many here are saying. No tower that can't target fliers will ever get the accolade from me. Especially in Alliance. Eldritch Channeler fully upgraded is the best tower, in my opinion.

Given the more intelligent targeting of other towers across the series I really did expect stargazers to shoot for the lowest HP enemies and for the stars to chain. It was really disappointing when I tried it out, and the chip damage just loses too much value in late stages & higher difficulties where even basic enemies cant be killed reliably with a shot but regenerate so quickly under blight. Corruption valley, where I thought they would be most useful, was a spectacular fail and I ended up using rocket gunners with just tier 1 phosphor to prevent flesh golems instead.

1:15 going past what "Takes additional bonus damage" which isn't something any of the Kingdome Rush games or to my knowlegde any of the games expressed. The tower description just says "Weaken" not make vulriable or Take more damge just weaken which is lower damage output in the game. This is the issue with too simplified descriptions.

I might not be the first person to bring this up but some of the towers like this one have inflated numbers of their abilities mainly the royal archers i think. Because of the cast time which lowers normal dps. This only truely applies to long cast times though.
