Big fan of the original film, but I also really like the TV mini-series because it was longer and they could include more elements from the book! Visiting the Stanley would definitely be a bucket list item!

I heard that McQueen was also held up due to being mugged while on his way to the house. He apparently then drove around town with a gun, found the person who robbed him earlier and got his wallet back.

Recently it’s reported that the owner of the LLC for that house is facing foreclosure and is planning to put the house up for auction. Really crazy that April 2016 this video was filmed.

Ruby Pearl testified that on the night before his murder, she saw Manson and the guys fan out and advance on Shorty as she was pulling away from Spahn's. We know he was killed in the day. I'm convinced Manson gave the same order that he gave before the LaBianca murders-- don't panic the victim(s) this time. So Manson and co. probably relaxed Shorty and convinced him everything was cool between them. No hard feelings (Charley was a great smooth talker. Very reconciling).. So a very relieved Shea had no problem with the seemingly innocent request for a ride to get auto parts the following morning. He relaxed his guard and it cost him his life.
