Right now I’m just practicing as much as I can, I follow a lot of other wood carvers on line. To try to learn more tips and tricks. Thanks again

Hi Bruce, I enjoyed following this video... do you have a pattern for making the blank, I'd love to try to carve one of these. I also love that it's a little bigger - easier for my eyes to see what I'm doing. I'm not 20 anymore!

One other question. Did you say that you used a 1-1/4" square piece of wood for the pickles?
@janiceemery200811 ай бұрын
Hello Mr. Ankeny, I just love the pickles you have carved and placed in a mason jar. I just think that is the most creative idea. Thank you so very much for sharing. If it is ok with you, I would like to give them a try and see how well I do in carving them. Did I see these pickles in WCI magazine? I thought they may have looked familiar. Thank you for sharing.

Hey Bruce, thank you for showing this. I’ve been making pickles for Christmas gifts. Is that Elmers glue? Please consider making a video where you paint a pickle. I never new about the glue dots. How do you finish them? Thank you 😊

Hi Bruce, thanks for sharing! Curious what spraying with water before applying does?
@bruceankeny7692 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question it allows the paint to soak into the wood deeper and let’s the wood grain show through. Not that Acrylic paint is that expensive but you use much less. No right of wrong it’s just what I like 🥴

Bruce I am a senior beginner and I’m in awe of your prowess with knife and wood. I too would benefit greatly from the pattern if there were any chance you could post it somewhere. Keep them coming. 👌

Was that a black paint you lightly brushed the carving with at the end or a different dark colour? Does that give it the antique look? I just discovered your channel & really enjoying your videos. Very informative & helpful to me as a new carver. Thanks.
