I don’t know why I was thinking about this just now. Thankfully, nothing like this has ever happened in my family. But I am a police records specialist and sadly, I read way too many reports about things like this. What’s even sadder Is that a lot of times the woman doesn’t want to press charges and then she just goes right back to him.

I like how you think the clueless husband is gonna reach for the phone to call the cops---but instead turns off the light. Almost made me scream at my computer screen!

My mother became very abusive to my father 16 years ago and started hitting him and slamming the door on him because he would not take his medicine for depression and that upsetted me a lot. She was even nasty to my sister and I when we were children and yelled at us for nothing. Was she right?

We love the story and thank you for sharing. Very inspiring story, especially as I show it to my at-risk students who have experienced so much trauma in their lives, that they can finally tell themselves, "I am not alone".

I think the scariest thing about this PSA, isn't the ambiguous nature of the violence itself. But more so the realistic scenario that the neighbours don't do anything, we all say we'd do something if we were put in their shoes, but let's be honest; how many of you would actually WANT to get involved?

2020's America. The Neighbors from Hell! 🤣😂 The Over the Top screaming and acting makes it feel more ridiculous, but the characters are trapped in their own lower economic hell and that is not funny, but how people behave unfortunately.

This is coming late as I just found out about Daisy life cut short due to her Rape from when she was 14. I am a survivor.... I will Not make this about me and my experience . I felt the need to give my condolences to you Charlie for everything you endured . I can not put into words the depth the Netflix documentary Audrie & Daisy had on me and I felt the need to reach out with my deepest condolences to you for your losses . I can not imagine and you are in many people's prayers . I will Never understand how that sherif from the documentary has a clear conscience and looks at himself in the mirror about How repugnant his attitude and comments were in Audrie & Daisy.... I do not have the words . I do Hope that you will continue to be a strong male influence for other young men..... you have positivity to share and influence that young minds need .

Thank you for making this presentation and bringing to the surface of the silenced and hidden roots of long term and cyclical effects of early domestic abuse. This is spot on and light needs to be shined on it. Thank you, again.

It is not my business. There are 3 sides to the story yours, mine, and the truth. She can leave any time, and if she can cry loud enough to be heard through walls she can call the police. And I don’t wanna hear any of you say that the police don’t help. LEO are required to remove the man out the house whenever this happens. It’s 2024 not the 1980s.

This is a good program which can be made even more effective by allocating funds to tailor it for people with autism and other special needs - this would be "Coaching Boys Into Men on the Spectrum".

It’s upsetting how things like this happen My father abused me and my mother quite a lot and while he was never physically violent he was still quite verbally and emotionally abusive Thankfully I’m now old enough, brave enough and fed up enough to stand up to him when he steps out of line

Thank you so much for putting together such an amazing panel of experts in the field who emphasize the importance of not being gatekeepers of information! I am working at one of a few BIPs over multiple counties/cities. The information shared in this video is so valuable and will be instrumental in expanding my research for funding and tailoring interventions for the clients we serve.

Yes, this does happen to men. There are some statistics that show the rates are about equal for both genders. Women misrepresent where they are in their cycle, or claim to be using birth control when they aren’t. Women need to get up to speed and realize that their gender can also be as abusive as men. Check out the sexual assault rates and women perpetrators, and women who sexually abuse their own children. It is astonishing and you have to ask if women really want to stop abuse, or just demonize men?

*I'm willing to bet 💲that his happens way more to men than it does women.* I mean, what she has just described is a "happy accident" pregnancy that some women will try to keep a man or manipulate him into marriage. Obviously I am not saying all women, but definitely a percentage have done this.
