I wish you showed how to "reuse" them - how to install again. Just shove the tube in straight?

If you just dip it in hot water it is MUCH easier to disassemble. I never have to use pliers.

Thanks! I was using basically the same technique but with channel locks rather than a needle nose; the latter would obviously be better. Also I'd been wondering about the boiling water idea that some folks here vouch for; I'll try that also.

Would you reckon one could use a submersible pump to pump the solids into a worm farm, so the worms digest the solids which filters out a combination of worm tea(water) so then that is directed to gravel growbeds (which would later also house worms) for some veggies? I am new to this kind system and need a filtration system that optimally clears water for my ducks but also grows veggies. please assist.

I use a pump to pump the water into a solids separator that can be drained into a bucket . That could go to the worm bin I guess.

Thanks for the vid. What brand of T connector is that? I ask because the rainbird connectors have a small white pipe that fits INSIDE the tube. I don't think it's possible to "collapse" the tube, because of this pipe. Thx.

You're using the wrong fence. If you use sheep/goat fence made for these guys, you don't have to mutilate your animals.

OOO, I'm not 100% sure. Ducks keep a very high humidity while incubating. It might not have been enough time to affect them. I guess only time will tell if they will be ok. You can candle them to see if there is still movement.
@pershop4950

I like your idea of turning over the water bucket. Other videos I've seen, they fill up the bucket, and water is spewing out, and they quickly rush to get the lid on so that it will create the vacuum needed. But in your case, you just turn the bucket upside down and the vacuum is created.

This was our 5th year using this design and it still works just as good. We have had to replace a few buckets, but rubber tub is still good.

I see how it's an inconvenience for your situation and I understand it. In other cases horns are very useful for the goats. My entire herd is horned and I couldn't have it any other way. They free range and have no need to put their heads through fences to get to something on the other side. After a while, their horns get so big, they prevent them from putting their heads through the fence anyway.

I like what you done. I see its been two years, hows it still working? (I seen your update vid after this as well, any changes since?) We hatched out first ducklings 8 weeks ago and are learning lots, (7 ducks total) I eventually want to get to your level of filtration. Currently i have 2 twenty gallon buckets, one swirl, and one full of sand. Its a daily routine to clean these buckets. I'm wondering how you clean your system? Can you do a vid on that? Thanks
