27:00 - 27:56 Ffs, what he was trying to say is rastafari chants are the same as hymns and many relate to Psalm or verses from scripture. Rastafari believe existence manifested by word of the all mighty or sound and vibration (hence the emphasis on good vibes [i.e. good vibrations] in rastafari culture). Chanting is to bring in to existence the power of the all mighty to cleanse one of sin and guide one to righteousness (if that is the right word). I.e. bring one (or i) = humanity and one's self, to live in harmony with nature with no immorality. Basically to live by the highest standards you can interpret from the bible (Ethiopian version the original version in ge'ez). Rastafari recognise their cultural and historical heritage of their African decent as a whole. And regard the biblical text as historical and somewhat mystical. But rastafari view the world with regard to anything biblical that this is the time of Revelations in the bible following the fulfilment of Revelations 5 And 5: Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” The Root of David = By the Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Elect of God. What must be remmembered is rastafari movement's particular aims are to reserve colonialism and in morden day neo-colonialism. I think that has been forgotten by most it is not just about biblical and nature. Rastafari movement has a real political and societal aim and purpose of which is ideological to be achieved without the need for armed conflict.

I’m a Kenyan married to an Ethiopian, we have kids and live in Uxbridge, London. Both Addis and Nairobi are great cities. Addis Ababa used to be very safe but for some reason they are starting to see petty crimes while Nairobi has had petty crimes for a long time. Kenya has no black market as such because Kenya has an open economy just like it is in the UK or the US where one can draw money from any bank dollars or shillings. As for Nairobi being developed because it was colonised by the British, I disagree with that narrative because the British left Kenya 60 years ago when there was not a single skyscraper and the city was quite small compared to today therefore the Nairobi you see today has been built by Kenyans themselves in the same way when Haile Selassie died in 1974 Addis had no skyscrapers but now they are so many built by Ethiopians themselves. I have rental properties in both Addis and Nairobi and I feel that both cities are great and really compliment each other.

One thing that you should know from outset is the so called "Rastafarian religion" is not known in Ethiopia. The person who was called "Ras Tafari" was believer of orthodox church (which is a mix of Judaism and Christianity). He is not from Judah as they are claiming. He is from Oromo in Ethiopia rather. He became king for uncivilized majority of Ethiopians at that time. The religious controversy is only an illusion from few Jamaicans (hallucination) or fantasy after smoking a series of weeds. Their manifesto is an imitation and copy paste from Holy Bible (Jesus Christ, the real Lion of Judah). Similarly, the Muslims (Mohammed followers) did same thing.

You are very poor and racist. If you are rich, you will afford guide people and you do not take the language as a problem. The other thing is your time concept is very back warded. You took time difference as a problem. Real tourist either they prepare themselves to tackle the inconveniences in language by learning the language and equip themselves with proper time concept to avoid timing confusion or in short they have guide people. You failed to do so and now you are trying to do incomplete comparison between sisterly countries. You are awkward like that.

in Ethiopia let me tell you, if you are speaking the language they don't understand or just they don't know, they will literally avoid you. only a little people will try their best to communicate with you so the language barrier is the main factor that makes you don't experience Ethiopia fully.
