I'd honestly prefer the soviet padded leather cap over this ...

I love that you called the closure on the last model hook and pile and not velcro. Just like rubber bands are called elastic retention bands. Lol

That’s what we wore into the Gulf War and oddly enough they issued us Kevlar Flak Covers because they were manufactured in the Desert chocolate chip colors .

I still cant find the first version. I have 3 lbv88e with correct buttpacks. All are new old stock. I still prefer alice over these though. Ive put together several kits all new old stock. Some how i keep finding unused alice and iifs gear. I collect , plus use the gear during trainings and FTX's. For such "old" gear it still works great for the basic civilian rifleman. Highly recommend either alice or lbv88e , especially if on a budget.

The M69 vests were used to supplement the hillbilly armor on HUMVEEs in Iraq in 04'. There were piles of them lying out by the motor pool once the up armored M1113s arrived.

I actually own an A1! However it's really interesting because the mask DOES have an A1 cup, but it's actually a 1991 production, which is interesting because it's before the actual issue year, but clearly must've been upgraded into an A1 later in it's service! Very nice mask, comfortable, practical, uses common filters, very nice.

Two years late, but Arma Reforger is probably in the best state it ever was, still a bit disappointing that it is not a "proper" Arma title, but I have a feeling the Arma 4 is not that far away, great video on the topic of Reforger btw

I wore a vest something like that but not exactly. The fastener was all Velcro. It wasn’t too bad until you had to fire from the prone position. Then it would push up on the back of your helmet and the front would obstruct your vision. On the range some of us would wear our helmets backwards while firing from the prone. Just don’t let the range safeties catch you doing it.

The British army bought a lot of M52 and M69 vests for use in Northern Ireland during the early days of the troubles, they saw service as a theatre issue vest until 1981 when they were replaced by a vest that contained plates called the INIBA.

its surprises me how dufferent US and Soviet cold war era uniform look. The US soldier looks like a advanced combat unit with ergonomic webbing and camo BDU. And the Soviet one has no changes since WW2

At least in the units I’ve been in helmet scrim is very uncommon. By that I mean I am the only person I ever see in my vicinity that has it. I used the pieces from a camo net repair kit. If it’s borrowed just fold up the excess and return it when you PCS. If you buy your own repair kit just cut it to size.

33:22 very accurate. This is why I sometimes hate the militaria "community" is there is such a constant pissing contest going on. It's honestly pathetic. I guess every hobby has their snobs though. I mostly collect 3rd Reich, that is what tickles my pickle, but this guy is so right about it ALL being worth collecting and studying no matter the monetary value. 3rd Reich prices are stupidly over priced anyways. I'm glad there are people out there collecting Scandinavian stuff because it's all important to the overall story.

Amazing video! And this is a really controversial topic. My take on it is that the only reason I’d open it sealed is if said item is really common and easy to get a hold of sealed. I recently bought an m17a1 gas mask that’s new old stock and the only reason I’m opening it is for one, it’s in a simple cardboard box so it’s not really sealed to begin with, and for two, I wanna make a video on it and document it due to the fact there are not many if any videos on it.

I can relate I’ve been on instagram for years and I remember the time when you can gain attraction by adding hashtags. Now it’s hard to get attraction and with the shadow ban that’s been in place it’s almost impossible to get a following. That’s why much of my focus is on KZfaq.

When I participated in ReForGer 88, I was told it stood for "Re-togetherness of Forces in Germany"; I think it was later changed to something shorter. At age 19, I wasn't told anything about the purpose other than to push back any Soviet invasion.
