It’s a station originated alert, it’s an amber alert local to the station coverage area. In the event of an alert local to our area, we interrupt program and broadcast our own message as well.

@@user-pp5bl9bz9w i think they played the wrong audio file by accident, and some youtuber thought they got rid of it and put in their title on youtube and it ran wild on here for views. if they were going to change it i would know about it before hand.

I know for once that before the alert, an announcement happened and it said "We interrupt this program to activate the Emergency Alert System.". Now the radio station doesn't do it anymore, at least for now.

@@MiguelSanchez0135we do that lead in now for certain high level alerts. Such as tornado warning. National Alerts, Civil Danger Warnings. It’s supposed to for CAEs but didn’t this time.

No, that’s called, the problem came from IPAWS/CAP femas end. Quite a good chunk of north Texas stations had problems with the test.

HA! They just went for the old "F your ears" approach and let the tone do the talking. Yeah, there's a national emergency, you're not gonna know what it is, but just know to be very afraid! I brought along a pocket full of old cell phones today to see which ones got the alert, unsurprisingly about half of them got it, so I guess the test was..... a success! Yeah! That's what it was.

I’m not from texas but I’ve heard that sound before, the rest stops on the i90 thruway in New York State would add amber alerts and missing persons alerts to the slideshows that ran on TVs in the buildings and that siren sound would play every time it came up. Pretty creepy

So this one night I was sleeping and I was woken up the the eas tones. It scared me but what scared me even more was the siren that followed after it. I could not go back to sleep that night
