Nah, it's just 06 animations essentially, i wouldn't call them improvements 😅. Don't get ne wrong, While i think bugs aside, Sonic 06 is very much a "dimond in the rough" and there's a lot to love there, one of the few concrete things i can say i always hated about it was Sonic running animation and how stiff he looks after hitting enemies with an homing attack. The reason i hate his running animation in this game is that it seems to actually be the worst way to gain speed. While the "ninja run" effectiveness might be questionable, at least, the principle make some sense, you know... You make you your body into a "cone-like" shape being more aerodynamic. In Sonic 06, considering how large Sonic hands are, putting his arms so far out on the side like that with his finger spread open seems like it would catch a lot more wind and actually slow Sonic down!
