Really loved this video. My fill valve did not come apart like shown in the video. Neither did the new one, even though both were the same style. I did not want to break them using force so I just replaced the whole thing. Perhaps a video showing how to disassemble the fill valve would be helpful.

The gasket under the flapper assembly can deteriorate as well. This gasket does not keep water from leaking on the floor like many people assume. Easy test, turn water supply off, flush, them wait and see where the water level stops. If it drain past the flapper and its seat, the gasket is bad, nor the flapper

Dammit, replacing the whole thing is gonna be treacherous. I don’t have the float ball, but my float goes up and doesn’t seal. It runs into the overflow. 😭

Jeeeeeeezus! Watched this a dozen times while doing it. Still managed to have to unscrew and rescrew multiple times. The big ball thingies didn't fit so I had to shorten the rod. Once in, it works beautifully. I'm NEVER using that new style again. Not after $165 water bill for near constant running. 😩
