Serbia, seeing how Austria (and their sponser and ally Germany) were spoiling for a war, may have been wise to accept 8 of the 10 points laid out to them by Austria. But their wisdom in calling Austria on their not making some sort accomodation for such a blunt and officious demand, to my thinking was totally justified. The Serbs were using their heads to try and ward off an immediate conflict. But the behavior of Austria and Germany revealed just how attached to military conquest to further empire, those countries were could only attempt to amass a defensive army, and call on Russia for help. No one at this point was interested in negotiations.

With the abundance of archival WW1 aviation film in existence, we still see post war aircraft presented in this documentary.

Some truly ridiculous mismatches between the video and text. The portrait of Trotski is labeled as "Vladimir Lenin" 🙂1:11:26.

@@LiamDaleIOW In general, the text if of inferior quality, compared with the video images. The video is not "100% archive footage", few shots are from movies. But the most ridiculous mistake is the portrait of Trotski, and the subsequence scene with him near a train, labeled as "Vladimir Lenin", both in the video and in voice.

Excellent historical WW1 battlefield docu-video !!! I am of course making a critique about the Allies, General Haig, his leadership and decision making in the Battle of the Somme They didn't call Gen Haig "the Butcher" for nothing Gen Haig just didn't comprehend the detrimental magnitude of the situation against the German lines he was about to send his men into in the Battle of the Somme, believing the 7 day artillery bombardment would suffice in destroying the enemy trenches You want to expend men's lives to achieve a success, then you had better ensure you had good reconnaissance intelligence of the enemy, who refused to take serious consideration of Gen Allenyby's dire warning bc of some personal jealousy, power conflict, otherwise, you mine as well just send your men straight into the machine guns to mow them down in the tens, hundreds of thousands, being sent into a firing squad just for being a soldier doing what your told - "lions lead by donkeys" Gen Allenby had more than proven himself in WW1 1914-18, Gen Sir Edmund Allenby commanded the British Expeditionary Force’s Cavalry Division, winning praise for his leadership at Mons, the Marne, the Aisne and Ypres. He later commanded the Cavalry Corps, and in 1915 led the 5th Corps during the Second Battle of Ypres (April-May 1915) General Sir Edmund Allenby led the Egyptian Expeditionary Force to victory in Palestine and Syria in 1917 and 1918. He successfully captured Jerusalem on 11 Dec 1917 from the Ottoman Turks for the first time over 500 years In my opinion, Gen Haig should never have commanded the British Army. If Gen, then Field Marshall Sir Edmund Allenby had been the commander of the British Army in July 1916 , the Battle of the Somme would never have been the disaster it was.. where the British Military being literally decimated, wiped out like it was under Gen Haig. 78 years isn't much time passing too clean up nuclear material. How many years in a "half-life"? Approximately 5000? So after 5000 years material down to half life. Then another 5000+ years for quarter -life! Then another 5000 years for eight-life?... Another for 1/16, 1/32, 1/64 etc... So lots of years longer than 80 years?

I must confess that Hitler speaks but I do not find it mesmerising I guess you had to be there and so it is lost in translation and by that I mean that the film cannot reflect the moment accurately.
