In 1996 or 97 (I can't really remember) I bought a black Trans-Am from Rowes auto scrap yard on Hwy 62 In Ohio County Ky. I got it home, got it running and it needed a new engine. The internet was still young then, but my mom had a computer that she let me borrow to look for parts for my car. I stumbled onto a Trans-Am website that opened with a picture of the Firebird on the shifter saying "Have you seen this?" if you clicked on the yes, it took you to another picture showing the Smokey and the Bandit car and truck. Then it gave a list of serial numbers. Yeah they had 4 cars for the production, but there were a few more that were built for the release of the movie to be parked at the movie theaters, dealerships, and so forth. The Trans Am I bought was titled as a 76, but everyone argued with me that it was a 77. The serial number matched! I had a "Trigger car! I restored the car back to original with a rebuilt 455SD Pontiac engine, new paint, new interior and even found replica decals in Wa state. The whole project took about a year and I had all the work done in a shop in Greenville Ky. About 2 weeks after I had it back.... somebody STOLE MY CAR! To this day, every time I see a Black 77 Trans-Am I wonder if it is my stolen car.

I hate automatic transmissions ! About four decades of driving trucks and I never drove one with an automatic transmission and I hope that I’ll never have to ! I like my 18 speed manual allot, but I’ll take the 5x4 two stick Spicer boxes before the anything automatic

Mark, just a couple thoughts about the bikes. Most drivers will probably only have one bike, so I think if a person was going to do it and wanted to leave it on all the time, a much simpler and smaller rack could be used. The rack you guys built is nice, and no doubt plenty strong, but it's way to big. A simple single rack could be used, and I would move the pogo stick closer to the 5th wheel, and put the rack between it and the sleeper. The same could be done with a two bike rack, but again it would have to be downsized. Another thing that would help as far as space is concerned would be to have a bike with handlebars that can be turned 90 degrees. That would also help reduce the amount of space required for everything. Obviously on a long wheelbase truck it wouldn't really matter, but with short wheelbase trucks like yours, it could make things easier. Just a few thoughts. Maybe I'm over thinking things.

Wow! I found snowman, I was driving a dump truck in the Indianapolis area in the mid 80’s and this truck and trailer was at a garage for the longest time. Always wanted to stop and look at the truck, but I was always in a hurry to dump that next load. Neat to see it again, glad it’s still running and turning heads. Thanks for the video.

Sounds like the misses is saying it's time for mufflers! 😅 Donaldson makes a muffler that only has about 12 inches of packing right at the top, just enough to take the bite out of the bark! They work really great on 2 stack trucks, they're still pretty load on a single stack. I can't seem to think they add any restriction over a straight pipe really.

The only problem with putting bikes on the back of your semi is that they’ll get all dirty from all the road grime and then it will get all over you when you ride them

Your gonna hate those hydraulic brakes, give it about the end f the summer and you will never keep enough oil in them from leakage
