When u add an index column to a dim table you create from a fact table but want to add more data to the dim table from a refresh of the source connection, will the index column auto populate in the dimensional table in the future if you should refresh with the intention new data will be populated?

Sir, I have one doubt in Start Schema as you have said that under this all dimension tables are de-normalized as they will have duplicate values but why these table will have duplicate values these should be unique and the duplicasy should be fact table as only this table will contains the transactional records. pls clarify.

Assume there is an employee table with emp Id,employee name, Emp Pin code, Emp City. In star schema Here the emp city would be repeated because there could be multiple employees from the same city. In snowflake schema we would have a second table with pincode and city
