The immortality talk got me thinking about Groundhog Day. It's theorized that Bill Murray's character spent 10,000 days in the loop before he found his way out. He was theoretically immortal in the time loop. The amount of things you can do in that loop is astounding. He could have read the entire library going back day day after day. We saw him learn to play the piano by repeatedly visiting the piano teacher and start with slightly more skill each day. He had time to explore so many things in that loop. It's like leveling up a character from 1 to infinity with no time elapsing.

I thought speed factor only means how early in the round will you attack - not how many times. For example if a guy with a short sword and the guy with halberd both have 1APR then how (based on your example) can the guy with short sword attack twice before the guy with the halberd makes the attack? Doesnt make sense

Man this makes me remember Drakensang, two German (?) CRPGs that had real time with pause and were incredible (also beautiful at the time). BG3 and Divinity are very nice but man I would love a modern take on a real-time with pause game.

Decided to play BG 1 for the very first time after finishing BG 3. I say to myself, "I'll take Chromatic Orb. That was decent in BG 3. I don't even need to read the spell description." Xan is MVP of Durlag's Tower. Give him his sword, robe of fire, and the fire ring and he has 110% fire resistance which allows him to heal when hit with fire. Hand him a Wand of Fire and you make him the most dangerous Wand Slinger in the game. A God Tier companion.

Well, +2 thaco for rouge is not bad. It would be good for Shapeshifter.

I don't agree that crossbows are better than bows, they only have more potential damage, but thats just one aspect. Bows have more ApR, more flexibility and will absolutely carry BG1. All that AND they won't be that much behind in damage.

Imo Pathfinder’s rule of death equaling hitting negative points equivalent to your constitution is a decent balance.

I prefer shortbows better than crossbows even in bg2. But yeah. Plenty prof. points to have grand mastery in both and a couple other weapons.

With archer, why didn't you simply roll an elf? You'd get -2 THAC0 from 19 dex and elf racial and you only lose 1/14 the hit points on a backliner.

I know crossbows are the best for BG2, but couldnt you afford to start with bows in BG1 and switch in BG2? Level 18, which is 3 million xp, well get you grandmastery in both.

Confused Sarevok and the Ravager man. That still gets me. I've never really watched a whole run of yours from start to finish, but that was the one I did, and got me into the no-reloads. Danny Defender is also the only class that I managed to reach no-reaload ascension with. But I have never, ever since that untimely end picked up the Ravager.

Just tossing my two cents here for the sake of discussion: 1. Compared to other F/M builds, fighter/illusionist also gets Shorty Saves (vs Spells) on top of the extra spellslot per level. That's an un-dispellable -5 bonus for the most common type of saving throw right out of the gate, nothing to scoff at. 2. Cleric/Mage dualing is an interesting approach. Besides the low lvl dualing Cleric 11/12 -> Mage is worth consideration, their downtime isn't too painful (mileage may vary) and because of their XP tables you can still reach Mage 28 for maximum amount of spellslots. Make yourself a Cleric of Helm and you'll wind up with a Mage who can cast 3x True Sights per day and long lasting Death Wards, Prot. From Evil & Chaotic Commands. You can even squeeze in almost full powered Sequencers & Contingencies (missing 7th level Priest spells obviously).

Watched this to learn about archer/ranger kit :p Was wondering how spells works with it. Cause i made a sirine kit: Its a archer. It summons a custom bite/kiss attack and a custom bow which can summon some arrows of biting. It scales on level. It can become Grandmaster in knife and bows. (Kiss/bite attack is knife profience). It also has: Dire charm Improved invisibility Web Thorns Spider dawn Solo play, kinda waiting on some cool spells :p 1mill xp so far in bg1 with basilisk/stone to flesh/charm method :p

Anyone knowif this run was recent or earlier this year?

Hide Armor were actually added for Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack back in 1999. It were eventually ported over to Baldur's Gate 2. Just want to point out. Makes sense since many back then skipped Baldur's Gate entirely and went straight to Baldur's Gate 2. No matter, it is an weak, useless armor.

I know its not optmal, but the stuff makes the use of two handed swords so much fun on a Kensai! Even with less attacks, your base dmg and Thaco are so huge, that you can kill many things before it touchs you! Including stone skin mages, if u have dragons breath just to bypass it!
